Off pavement is the most unpredictable and wild stuff to drive on. I had 4-wheel drive, but would go from 4 wheel to 2-wheel at times, in order to fly over berms, (keep rpm in the power band; engine rev.’s quicker), *almost* be air-born, (want continuous dirt / sand contact to land straighter). Land sideways, it might be end of the ride. Sliding around turns is unpredictable also, as you have experienced. Look at some old Ken Block rally videos - If you have not already.

Already watched the 3 LZ videos at this rally compound and now going through your experience with a completly different car, RWD, is really great (I also really like the helmet view). Can already tell you're better at handling the wheel in rally mode which is totally different than drift mode; Adam struggled on corners where you need just a little more input than 120° left/right like the 8:48 one and you go through that perfectly. Loved the perfect hairpin at 13:30 !! You go girl !!

Carbon fiber, drive shafts are usually used not for an off-road they don’t handle impact well it probably be better to have a steel or aluminum shaft for off-road racing. I was just suggest steel.

Hopefully the rally build is an Evo, and not an FC. Although I think the best bet would be an FRS / GR86 especially since there are ARA approved FIA 235/5 compliant cage kits available for them.

Look up "5 mile town Forestry rally" brillant forrestry stages here in Ireland 💯 but most of our rallys are tarmac on coutry roads🤙look up Donegal International Rally i hope your getting another Evo and not touch your silver one but id love to help yous build it right 👌💯🤙

You have two problems, I think… 1. The Barbie Z is your only really easy plug & play drift car, everything else is a highly tuned monster prone to blowing up on you or too nice for casual door banging… 2. It’s only 2WD… As an ex pro rallyx driver, it’s not like you need an easy introduction…

I guess rocks bouncing off the driveshaft could probably hurt it pretty bad, being carbon. Maybe a full length skidpan would be a good solution if you keep running stock shafts? My guess is on an evo build, although RX7's have rally heritage!

Could be fun to kind of just replace and 'rallyify' things as and when they break. Though do get better tyres still... but could kinda be fun. But any which way, the 350 definitely needs to stay as a rally car. And it's already stripped, and the drift handbrake is perfect for rallying too. As for the build. If I were to ignore other comments.... I'd have guessed at most likely a Corvette, or maaaybe S15 build. I briefly considered a Hyundai Veloster, but don't think you'd be as interested in a FWD rally car. You already said it wasn't an RX-8 and basically said it's not an RX-7 (tho' that'd be seriously awesome), or Evo. Again, ignoring my having read other comments... Evo for awd makes sense, but Corvette for fun'd also make sense. From what you'd said on in comments after the first run with the off-roadified Z, I'd discount an S15. Too recent an addition. Not that I put too much thought into this at-all. 😅
