Drift My Ride Ep 40 - 1UZ V8 Power Lexus IS200!

This week we go Jap with a Scottish Drift Championship car. Steven Allan brought his V8 powered Lexus IS200 down to Driftland for Craig to have a little play with! Simple but effective, Steven ripped a Lexus LS400 apart and fitted his assortment of workshop parts to it, producing a package that dropped right into his IS200. With loads of torque, full Scottish Drift Championship specification, and a mad purple glitter paint job this car turns heads! Craig is faced with difficult conditions on track as it starts to rain halfway through the interview. So, how does he get on? Remember this is the engine that Craig is having put in his S14 just now - so we hope he loves it!

Loved this lol Questions asked like a person who has this (and their own) car already mentally in bits, ready to do the conversion (the next day if it's good as it's cracked up to be). Questions answered by a modest in-the-know bloke, who built it to be a solid laugh (while also seeming to be the Scottish version of the legend called Guy Martin). Glad you guys made this. I keep eyeing these as a daily/1st drift car. I'm 100% convinced. Good stuff lads

Got to to love the 1uz. But im bias af. Peps have been sleeping on this engine for to long. Only downside to it is the price to modify it. Apart from that there bullet proof.

For a street legal drift car IS/Altezza XE which would you preffer: 1UZ or 1JZ? I saw you drive a 1JZ and a 3SGE Beams on the channel also.

I would use a 1uz due to the better low end tourqe and lower weight.

man, if only lexus made an IS-F version of the first get IS, with a 6 speed manual and either a full on 2JZ-GTE or a 1UZ. the e46 M3 would have had some serious competition.

Altezza came with the beams and the is300 came with the na 2j. IS200 comes with 2l straight 6
