I normally play hardcore modes so always thought the ballistic vests were mostly redundant in hardcore. despite my reservations, decided to pick one up and the amount of bullets I was able to absorb almost tricked me into thinking I was back on black ops 2 playing some core game mode. Needless to say after that I started using them in my support streaks and then, after I got jumped by a dog while wearing one and survived, they are now a permanent addition to all of my classes.

Hey Driftor, I really hope you read this ! when this series is over, or when you're finished with a certain weapon type like AR's, I would really wish you would do a final episode rating the weapons you reviewed cause after a couple of weeks it's hard to try to remember specific numbers like damage and rate of fire. for example you could say that this gun has the best range, this gun has the highest rate of fire, this would be a helpful summary for all the reviews you did.

I don't mean to be mean (that is a decent idea), but you could always just write these sorta stats down on a notepad or sheet of paper for you to review. You could just jot down a guns damage, range, RoF and any quirks Drift0r points out while or after watching the video. If that's just too much work well... I understand xD

Great tip on armour piercing rounds, personally didn't feel ballistics were as strong as mw3 but now knowing the details & the fact it takes 3 bites from fido will reconsider & give them another go, or at least have a class setup that includes them, thanks as always!

This is an amazingly powerful streak. Giving you and 3 other teammates essentially the ability to take enough damage to kill a person 2 times over and still have half of your hp left over is crazy effective. At long distances you are talking almost a dozen bullets to kill most people with an average automatic weapon.

Great vid man! I did not know that they protect you from dogs! I was going to suggest doing one on ammo crates. I learned the best way to get XP with ammo crates is when you get them, throw them at a group of teammates as it gives the teammates ammo and you extra XP!

As he said, ballistic vests will not protect from armour piercing rounds. So the CBJ would be a perfect counter to ballistic vests.

Great video Driftor, I will be using these more just to avoid dying from peoples dogs. In MW3 my friends and I played HC TDM and we all ran BV. One round on Lockdown I went 34-0 and got a MOAB all because I kept putting on ballistic vests dropped by myself or my team mates. It just worked out that everytime my vest wore out I was able to slap on another one. They are even more OP in this game, but with AP rounds it evens that out.

hey drift0r i think you should do a video on how exactly satcoms work in this game. it seems like most people don't know that a single satcom has a limited radius. i don't know in what form, but i'm sure a lot of players would appreciate this information.

The SatComs are pretty simple. If you have one down then any enemy on any allies screen shows up on the radar, that's the "Eyes on" thing they talk about. Add one more SatCom and it just turns into a normal UAV from previous games. I'm pretty sure you only need 4 down to get the AUAV effect (shows enemy arrows on minimap).

Hey everyone, I see a lot of you still have questions regarding the mechanics behind the ballistic vests. I am the guy that did all the testing for the ballistic vests. Thanks to Drift0r for citing my topic in the description! You can check that topic or the video on my channel for some more info (such as on hardcore). These vests really are too complicated to explain in such a short video, if you want detailed examples check the "More info:" link or ask in a comment on my video and I'll try to answer you. One final note, the thing mentioned where vests would only absorb half the health is an urban myth derived from the armour mechanics in Quake 3. Since Call of Duty is still entirely built on the same idTech 3 engine people could be lead to think protection works similar here but it does not. Back in Quake 3 armour absorbed 67% of the damage, and 33% would go to your health. Just a small piece of trivia!

Hey Drift0r this is an old video and an older game but I had a question about ballistic vests. One time I was playing strike zone and a friendly teammate called in a kem strike and my team had vests deployed. As I was picking one up the nuke went off during the little timer bar to get a vest, and I stayed on the "old" strikezone instead of going to the new destroyed one, can this be replicated?? Idk if you look at these or even still have this game but it would be an interesting topic

I have a story! I was wearing my ballistic vest on mw3 on Bakaara. I went up into that two story building that looks down onto the helicopter. I had my P99 with my tactical knife out in order to breach the upstairs room. This guy stuck me with a semtex wright when I stabbed him. I continued into the room. and turned toward the balcony. unfortunately for him he had a tac insert and he spawned, then the semtex blew up and killed him. Thanks to the mighty vest I was still standing. COD logic is fun sometimes.

Canister bombs, IMS, RPG's, redo IED's on how many kill you with ballistic vests, enemy kill streaks like a hind, helo scout, and Loki, also include minigun, trinity rocket and MAAWS missile launcher. (I think that is how you spell it). All of these are kinda important to know for when you have ballistic vests.

they disappear after the 150 is gone, and they dont replenish armour ( or "health") points either

I'd imagine as they act as armour, they don't regenerate like health. ie. if you take 100 damage on your vest, you'll still have 100 health but your vest will only have 50 left, and that figure won't rise.

Hey, Drift0r! Will you be doing a video on the "Automatic Fire" attachment for the MSBS? The only thing I can find was one article stating that it adds 10% deduction in range and .9 damage modifiers for the body except for the head. Your health in HC is 30. Ballistic Vests gives you x2.5 more health, like what they do in Core. So basically 30*2.5=75=HC health 75 is your health in HC.
