Fall is when the Polar Bears are around, waiting for the bay to freeze. From Sept - mid November or so. Not in the winter, winter is for the northern lights.

I didn't see them on this trip because the sun stays out well past Midnight! But in the fall and winter they are very easy to see in Churchill!

That building you showed around the 4 minute mark and said it was the school is actually the old school. It is no longer in use. It closed down just over 10 years ago. The Basketball court and playground still get used by locals though. It's supposed to be getting renovated at some point to be turned into a care home for elders in the community. The school is now part of the complex. It's the yellow and red part of the building you had showed with the other playground outside of it.

It's on my bucket list to visit Churchill - hoping to photograph the northern lights. Did you engage a guide to be able to go near the waters edge ? How did you get around town to see the other buildings ? Not sure how I would coordinate night photography of northern lights if it's dangerous to be out at night. **And great video too BTW! 🐻‍❄

Hi there! No, I walked down to the water's edge on my own - not recommended, but it's a calculated risk. If you rent a vehicle or have one nearby, you should be fine. I used the boat (viewing platform) as my safe spot, but there's always a risk. Churchill is very small, so I explored the town on foot. It can be walked clear across in less than 10 minutes. The Tundra Inn has fantastic food, kind of your English pub type of food. The Seaport isn't as bad as you made out. I've eaten at both places tons of times. Each has their place and I have enjoyed meals at both.

I think half the battle was the dish I ordered - same price as Tundra, but vastly inferior in terms of quality (ie. mixing a dry rub with mayo to create a very strange and overly salty ‘chipotle mayo’). I’m sure there are some winners on the menu, but I wasn’t lucky enough to try them on my single visit. My server was a bit crass as well. Overall, just a lousy experience - but I take your word that this was likely the exception, not the rule! Agreed that Tundra Inn is great, though! 👍

Quite eye straining to watch this video with the fast movement/panning of the camera too rapidly... Would be more pleasant for viewers if you held the camera still with SLOW movement/panning while speaking/narrating, and when capturing something behind you, instead of zipping the camera around and making viewers dizzy, it would be best to PAUSE the camera, then when the next image is ready, turn it back on and beginning speaking/narrating... You can get ideas by watching videos from experienced videographers, and you too can present similar "eye pleasing" videos too.=== You did better on the wall murals.==== ok, while watching, the DRONE footage was spectacular!!!!

Hi Sylvain! What you're watching is one of my first few dozen videos, when I didn't own proper gear for video production. I was just a few months into my channel. I've always debated whether to simply delete these shaky old videos, or keep them online, but I've decided to keep them online because they do provide some good information about what to expect. At the time, I had no idea the footage was shaky - I just went out filming as a novice, and only noticed the shaky footage when editing. That said, I bought proper gear in September 2020 which has definitely changed the quality of my content. So, while the first 40 vlogs are pretty rough, the 160 I've produced since are a lot more cinematic. You'll also be happy to hear that I'm planning a return visit to Churchill to capture it on camera properly! As always, thank you for the constructive feedback and rest assured I learned my lesson as a newbie vlogger back in 2020 when my channel started. Cheers!

Incredibly high wages! When I worked in Nunavut, in Canada’s Arctic, I made exactly double what I make at home in Alberta. Thankfully, I made a point to bring boxes full of fresh food up to the north with me after every trip home, so the costs up there weren’t as bad as they would have otherwise been. I’d say the worst is 12 packs of Coke, which can run upwards of $60-80 depending on the community.
