Mike this might be a little help to you, put the ceiling on first as the wall sheets will help support the edges. put a little pencil mark on the ceiling sheet where the wall studs are to make it easier to line up for screwing, when putting the top wall sheet on screw along the bottom first as it will hold it in place. Never line butt ends up as it has less chance of moving in later times Now these are just suggestions but I have drywalled many a house. God Bless from your Canadian Friend.

That's what I was thinking about the pincle marks. But I've never drywalled ever. I was just thinking to know where to screw it in cause there's a lot of money they have put into the shouse an I know they want it right as much as any viewer. Much love from Indiana 🤍

Great video. Love when you're doing busy work. Also, make yourself a T-Post out of 2x4 to help hold the drywall while doing ceiling pieces.

Mike It doesn’t matter if it’s just for storage take pride and what you’re doing it doesn’t take any more time being precise. You will eventually get the work done. But the hidden workmanship is just as important as what is going to be seen. I give you a 10 for effort. I understand that this is all new to you and you haven’t had any experience in this but your framaly has learned. there experience is there for you to learn from. Be safe continue your work and I pray that everything at the end will turn out for you guys. Advice don’t take shortcuts do it right the first time. Make every room as important as the next even the attic. Good luck but most important to be safe and take your time it will eventually get done.

Lyssa I received the same directions about holding up the drywall from my husband. I never knew my neck was so strong, lol. The shouse is looking amazing. A family that builds together stays together. Absolutely love the way you are strengthening your family foundation. ❤

This is coming right along. The rain makes it difficult. Looks like you need some saw horses. Maybe you can make some out of scraps. I am enjoying watching your progress. It is coming along great. I like the way you all work together. Including the kids will make them feel it is their build too. Wonderful teamwork!

Mike..make a dry wall helper with 2 pieces of 2x4....make a T out of them and use to stand under the sheet of dry wall to help hold it up...EASIER ON THE WIFE!

can't believe you made that poor girl hold up that whole sheeet while you fumbled with getting screws in;;;I used to put up sheetrock by myself and used pc of 2x4 about 3' long and screwed it about 3/4'' below the ceiling and made a tee pole with 2x4's;;;;slipped the end of the sheetrock in gap of scab 2x4 just below ceiling and then puslhed up the sheetrock and place the tee there to hold it in place and nailed or screwed from tee toward scabbed end of sheetrock against the wall nice job on the rock installed tho;;;a practice or two and ya be workin like a pro

Mark the position of wall 2x4 on floor before put up sheetrock . Also when putting up ceiling, you could put a couple pieces of 2x4s about 1inch down as ledge to set sheet on as a extra hand.

😊love to see the progress,boy is it ever raining there..I hope you put out some barrels or something to catch rain coming off your structures..I use to life off grid and I had old plastic barrels for rain coming off my tiny trailer. trailer..

I built a brace with a couple of 2x4s to hold up the ceiling doing it by myself, named it Lucy. She helped me build 2 houses 😅

Suggestion: for the ceiling, make T out if 2x4, then you’re just holding a 2x4 vs your arms over your head. Plus match non-cut edge to non cut edge, it will meet closure and less mud when tape.

suggestion for hanging Sheetrock alone or minimal help put temporary support runner along wall so only need hold unsupported put rock into runner side first then tip up for in corners can have 2 runner support slip in short end tip up then push sideways into the long runner now have end snd Side supported another way is to take 2x4 and make a tee (capital) from floor to ceiling minus thickness of Sheetrock this is use to prop up Sheetrock this really helps if you Short helper who can't reach the distance have them put 2x4 tee in place support tee work good when starting from wall with runner place end in runner slot push sheet up and slip in tee support will hold sheet in place while you adjust seam and anchor to joist

Are you going to put a flush toilet or composting one in the cabin? The grey water you can drain out into the woods if you don’t have a septic system..David could trench a drain line lined with gravel and the end open as long as no septic water goes out on the ground..just curious..
