Absolutely awesome........... The flame show from the M3 is sensational to watch. The battle with the GT3 was exhilarating to watch as well, a bit more grunt under the M3’s bonnet and you’d have got past him, super driving by both drivers though. Made my Christmas Day this has.

I must say what a beautiful piece of engineering is the 991 gt3 rs. You really don't need anything else. You go with it to a track day, you are rewarding with fast lap time when you have good driving skills then you go back home with the same car

That E30 M3 is probably the most beautiful and beast of a trackday car ever built. It is cool to see you Hammering it around the track just eating and spitting out everything. Id be careful of the Red Mist when getting around the cars like that GT3 RS,as its all in good fun there is no prize. Maybe put some aluminum foil over that rear bumper cover unless it is already melted. It must be an absolute Hoot to drive that thing,damn awesome!

Thanks Brent. My GT3 is one of my favourite cars. Like you say, it can fly around a race track all day & then do the shopping. Mine is my current daily driver so does a lot more shopping than tracking at the mo.

@only only The E30 isn't that far away from a GT3RS in terms of creature comforts. It's just lacking a stereo, aircon and carpets. My GT3 is only slightly more comfortable than the E30 and I'd actually say it's a harsher ride.

@@moneyparhar I speak from experience when I say you can’t just gut an E30 and throw a ton of power at it and go fast. It takes a lot more than that when you’re running 40 year suspension technology. The E30 rear trailing arm setup is not great. Likewise, Porsche has has spent 60 years perfecting the “engine in the back” thing. Two very different animals dueling on the same level, pretty cool if you ask me.

Great video, fella! Amazing project, only learned about it now, going to have a peek through some of your other videos. I think the ECU coolant temp limit is a must have, and 106°C seems a little high IMO. Ideally it should be max 90°C, but 90-100°C is normal. I would set 100°C as the limit and check why temps are creeping up above this value, just to be safe. Have a great New Year's eve!

Hi Phil, can I ask what management you are on because I am currently collecting the parts and adapter etc to do the DCT conversion and I currently run a Link Fury but Link dont currently support DCT however I know MaxxECU do support it as standard and you can even use the stock BMW gearbox ECU, I have looked at the HTG control unit but wasnt sure if thats somehow able to talk to the Link ECU and overcome the issue? Thanks

Yes GCU communicates with Link ECU. Easiest way is to do it via CAN bus so just 2 wires and Your communication is set :) DM us on FB for more details

It's just mistimed shifting. It's such close ratios it's quite difficult to get right every time.
