It looks like a very useful machine, but I’m curious why this isn’t done on the CNC.

Great question. In this example I was using scrap material similar to a slab door. If I’m running slab doors on the CNC, we run the hardware drilling on the CNC. This machine is for fronts and drawer boxes that didn’t pass through the CNC machine. We buy about 4,000 foil drawer fronts a year for our closet business and we run all of those through this machine. If you make or buy out 5 piece doors, this machine allows you to drill for hardware on them as well very easily. I have run individual parts like this on the CNC, each size needs its own program, it’s much more time consuming than this machine and it ties up the CNC and keeps it from doing more productive work.
