Great advice! I paid a water jet guy $300 to drill 1" holes into 16 pavers for a job with lighting 3 years ago. Glad it turned out well, wish I knew this back then

Oh nice, was that expensive to have done?

I think it was reasonable considering how badly I needed it done and that I live in the most expensive city in Canada

Can I use a regular drill with the diamond core bit for this and just take a little longer?
@iamahardscaperАй бұрын
Might burn out your drill

Should those installed anchors be loose like those you have installed?
@iamahardscaper3 ай бұрын
they were adhered into the pavers. they should not be loose. ideally for pavers they should have the anchor.

Great video! I plan to diy. So, One year later, how are the anchors for the paver? Any issues with the safety cover?
@iamahardscaper4 ай бұрын
They are working fine, but ideally you would use the anchors with the stakes

I’m drilling four holes into a paver to secure down a outside shower. I used a concrete drill bit. I first tried a smaller bit . After hammering to make it work the anchor became not useable, bent edge for bolt So then with new paver and anchor drilled slightly bigger hole than anchor, having watched your video . But with this, when I try to tighten, all it does is spin around still . So then I added epoxy to set hard but all it does is spin around still????

You can put some duct tape around it or Hardscape adhesive that adheres to both metal and concrete and go that route

What is the brand name of the drill bit?
@iamahardscaper10 ай бұрын
I don’t know the brand of the specific drill bit, but the Amazon link is in the description

Aren’t you supposed to use different anchors for pavers? The anchor you used are for poured concrete.
@iamahardscaper11 ай бұрын
Yes there are 9" anchors for pavers, but I am confident in these slabs. The smaller pavers around the pool are in a concrete collar for the most part anyways and adhered to it.

I think this is a Cheap and unpopular technique. I drilled 26 holes to a Depth of 13” to allow for the SS anchors, then you install the Safety Mesh anchors into those to secure it from the freezing temperatures, wind, branches or anything else that could compromise the Cover.
@iamahardscaper4 ай бұрын
I think this will be alright, they don’t even reach the bottom of the paver so with some adhesive they are seated as if they are in concrete.

@@iamahardscaperagreed. 13” deep seems overkill for a pool cover. The cover will be damaged way before these deep anchors fail, if ever.

The anchors require PIPE extensions!!! This is an unsafe and inadequate way to install anchors. Don’t do it!
