Satisfactory is a first-person open-world factory building game with a dash of exploration and combat. Play alone or with friends, explore an alien planet, create multi-story factories, and enter conveyor belt heaven! In this complete beginners guide to Satisfactory, I will explain to you the basics from the ground up by starting a brand new game so you can watch and even play along. I will explain the controls, the UI, the mechanics, how to build, craft, explore, and automate. I detail my thought process, sharing tips and tricks along the way but I spoil nothing about the game or the story. I don't force a particular style or tell you exactly how to win every encounter, but rather help by providing the fundamentals so you can enjoy Satisfactory at your own pace. Adjacent buildings will show optimal belt alignment (tho not full placement, eg if a curve is too sharp/steep) by an animated dashed line from the output. You can see the belt alignment line at 08:03 & in various places further on in the episode The belt clipping warning is not a problem for most machine products, but it can prevent some things (eg yourself) from moving along the belt. This can be irritating if you're using belts as walkways, which is convenient early game for long distances or quick elevation changes
