I'm still utterly flaberghasted at the magnificence of the dimensional depots they introduced in 1.0 - It feels really fantastic to be able to go out exploring with an empty inventory but still have access to plenty of ammo, food, and building materials, and even being able to squirrel away stuff that gets picked up along the way so even an unexpected death means nothing of any real value(like harddrives) has to be left in a crate anywhere! :D I've only managed to catch a few fractions of your first two 1.0 VODs live, but then a lot of the early stuff is kind of standard progression, so now I'm going to put your third one on and get my factorializing on! I don't think I'll make it through the full 11 hours though, i'll probably skip around a little and mostly watch the parts where you talk more, lol :) Cheers for this pre-release tour, it was great!

Pretty crazy you started youtube from this game and all. I can never get addicted or find a game that keeps my interest, i almost think there is something wrong with me. Every game i play i lose interest after a couple weeks at most. I been playing 1.0 but i am only up to oil industry and i am already losing motivation to keep going and looking at other games. Since you mentioned in the video that you hit the object limit but didn't follow up on it, I assume you don't know or didn't know at the time. That in 1.0 simple objects like foundations, walls and a lot more,.. will be converted to -(stuff that I don't remember the name of) that do not count towards the object limit making Mega builders less likely to hit the limit. Again in 1.0 so of course this build you are showing could only benefit from it, only if the save is converted to 1.0. Just letting you know if you didn't came across it since you made this video, and because I don't see any comments mentioning it either.

I did know that, but I hadn't planned on playing this build past 1.0 because I wanted to start fresh. However, I have loaded it in the 1.0 build and it is still low FPS, but its much better, I think a large reason for that is due to the reduced objects along with various other efficiencies. Which is good, because I plan on building just a big in my new playthrough lol.

I made/gathered all the materials to build it. The last two weeks as I was running out of time, I did port in some empty cannisters. I had made about 3 million, I ported in about 250k so a small amount overall, but I was out of time and needed more cannisters lol. Other than that, no free materials.

The thing I struggle allot, is how to build the foundation of buildings. How do you build foundations on that crooked world, where you can't flatten the ground or destroy the bigger rocks. Do I build it on the world grid? Or not? I find the world grid is too restrictive, you can't stuff buildings into good positions like that.

Well I do a lot of different things for different buildings. Sometimes on grid, sometimes not. Some of them are flying. Really just depends on what I want to do. I build a factory inside the red forest and left the large trees, that was fun. I'd say just experiment. You can also check out some of my VODs for inspiration on getting started on factories. VODs 3 4 and 5 of my 1.0 playthrough deal with factories.

Hey, at least you're trying to do roads in a blueprint. That's more than most players. Also, I heard blueprint snapping is a bit off right now, That may be part of the problem. I like to build walls to aim at, then nudge the rest of the way. Slower, but you can get them lined up perfectly. If you have questions, feel free to join my discord. I think Coffee Stain released a video saying its possible in 1.0, but I haven't done it yet myself. What I did in update 8 to direct vertical placement is to build a wall where I wanted to connect the blueprints, then you have something to aim at and as you slide up and down the wall with your pointer, it should raise and lower the blueprint location.
