Dr Dazer, there's a plethora of uTube videos on every aspect of diabetes. I've watched most of them and feel yours are unique - not because of your knowledge but rather because of your ability to transmit knowledge/information in a none-medical, layman's way. You are terrific. Please keep it up. One aspect of this disease is what I would call "stomach memory" which no video covers i.e. the fact that, despite will power and determination, one psychological barrier preventing Type II diabetics from taking advice and reforming their errant ways is the fact that their stomachs have accommodated "bad" foods for years!

I drink a lot of lemon, warm throughout the day including after eating. Apple cider vinegar causes instant stomache and i throw up big time! all vinegar causes this.🤢🤮 But lemons are fine, either to eat and suck on and into warm water. Limes provide a nice switch but eating it, i cannot do, only as a substitute for use in tea. 😊

What causes sharp rises and sharp falling in blood sugar. My glucose monitor set off an alarm 3 times because I had a sharp drop in sugar, below 60, it was in the high 140s when I went to bed. I have since started eating popcorn before bed. No more alarms but I hate eating before bed.

I just learned this a few days ago so I'm happy to share. I don't like eating right before bed either but I have too because my blood sugar drops below 70 if I don't. What's happening is, your levels are recovering from the food you ate throughout the day. If you eat dinner earlyish (6pm) and go to bed at 11pm you were "fasting" for 5 hours. This may be too long for you and your blood sugars are already dropping even before you're asleep. If they get too low while you're sleeping you may go into hypoglycemic shock and go into a coma and never wake up. 😬 If you wear a dexcom g7, and your blood sugars reach 60, it will fail and you won't be able to use it. This happened to me on day 2, I was pissed but, the beeping saved my life! I could've died in my sleep and that's now why I'll eat some protein before bed. A meat ball if I'm feeling adventurous lol or just a handful of nuts or a pollyo string cheese stick to get me through the night. Good luck to you! 😊
