I cannot stress enough the importance of getting your electrolytes / minerals every day when on low carb and fasting! I ended up being taken to hospital by ambulance because of hyponatremia and hypokaliemia, and to a lesser extent being low on all minerals! I was used to low carb and fasting but I had recently started restricting my carbs even more on OMAD. I didn't have any of the usual symptoms but suddenly got a massive headache and a minute or two later I passed out. I was out for nearly 2 hours during which I had seizures and vomited (thankfully it was just before my mealtime so my stomach was empty). 4 days in hospital and now I have to be super careful to maintain proper electrolyte levels or I will be in trouble again. I'm still committed to low carb and fasting, I love this lifestyle and feel better than I have in decades, but that incident sure was scary!

Greetings to you Dr IAM a79yr old female n is insulin resistance I was on actrapad. N protophane n Metformin 3 times a day 6mts now my meds are changed to 30units of ryo dek 2 day n. I'm on pressure n echo trend and eltroxen100u n water tablets 6 mts now I have a pacemaker Dr my problem is I am on a low carb diet 2 meals a day but my morning sugar is high what shall I do diabetic for40yrs if you could send me your cell number you are a great inspiration God bless you

You should do a 90 day elimination diet/carnivore diet for reversal of diabetes. And to be honest with you, you should be on a zero carb diet since you’re diabetic. Carbs spike blood sugar levels and insulin resistance increases. Therefore to make your health better don’t eat any. I know of the addiction to carbs and sugars, but that cycle can be broken. Do you eat candy? Sweet tarts? Lots of cake and ice cream? Probably not, unless you’re the type that tells yourself that it’s ok you’ll just take more insulin. Yeah I understand, I was on insulin and I didn’t know that insulin being high in blood is worse than glucose high in blood! If you want to feel better than you have since you don’t remember, then you owe to yourself and loved ones to try the elimination diet! I promise you’ll feel so much better

Great, and sensible breakdown! I had to radically change my diet due to periphal neuropathy cause from both statin drugs, and diabetes. My trace elements were critically low, and presently reversing this condition i do supplements, but separate taking them approx 4 hours apart since certain elements conflict with each other. I do early morning sun, and also know the the stimulus to the eyes are benefical. I was so bad two months ago, I couldn't squeeze a lemon wedge, now I can a whole lemon. Sorry a tad off topic, appreciate this share!

I just found your page not by coincidence I am sure of that. I have been on a weight loss journey now for 2 momths and recently I began IF since August 31. I literally overhauled my eating because I am prediabetic and have high bp. I already see changes in my body lost 5lbs and I feel great! However, that darn bp is stubborn and seems to do what it wants. I did notice some days it is low even when I haven't taken my meds. And other days I can feel my pressure rising and I know it is high. Can you please advise me on what I might do at this point. I fast on a 16/8 schedule I make healthy balanced meals for me and family which include protein, healthy fats, whole grains and lots of veggies. I also end my fast with a green drink I made consisting of berries and green veggies. Other then this only drink water daily (3 ltrs) I exercise daily to include aerobics, strength training, swimming, and walking. I started this with more expectations of healing and rebuilding my body. Thank you for your help ❤

I don’t understand all these health gurus and doctors suggesting a low carb diet. It makes me laugh so much it hurts! There’s no minimum RDA for carbs and they are not an essential part of your diet! Instead of low carb it should be NO CARB. They can recommend cutting this or cutting that from your diet, but won’t tell the truth about carbs. Especially where diabetics are concerned! They should tell each and every diabetic to end carbs. It should be zero carbs and zero sugars for all diabetics, if not every human. I know a lot of you will scoff but that’s addiction speaking and yes you are addicted. No I’m not, oh yeah? Quit for 90 days and see how that goes? And now every excuse snd derogatory thing you’ll say just to avoid going without those carbs/sugars! LoL Jajajajajaja good luck everyone and I hope you do it cause you might learn stuff. I reversed my diabetes! Will you? Pre-diabetes?

@@nuimage6336 yeah I only eat meats beef bacon butter eggs. I’m on day 236 and my numbers are better than ever and still off of insulin and A1C-5.5, so as far as I’m concerned it’s right for me. There’s carbs in my diet though, no one can go zero even me a strict carnivorous person. Meats do contain carbs, even if just a little bit. Stay healthy

@@nuimage6336 meats actually have carbs, but if that’s the only carbs you get that’s good. It’s ok that some don’t understand the evidence. One day there’ll be honest studies done to prove it. Just looking at it anthropologically the human brain size has gotten smaller steadily over the last 10 to 12,000 years. Why is that? Oh I know that happens to coincide with the amount of time we’ve had agriculture. Imagine that for 300,000 years our brains got bigger and bigger and bigger until about 12,000 years ago.! And that’s why 12,000 years ago give or take we have agriculture yeah cause we’re omnivores and it’s so good for us right? But we’re not we are Apex predators we eat meat we made animals go extinct without guns. All we had was sticks and stones. But we’re omnivores? On what planet? 🌏 see they make the mistake of thinking because it doesn’t kill us. We could do it like eating plants, right? What about alcohol drugs anything that they say is bad for us but it doesn’t kill us unless we do too much or do it too long? You don’t think plants are killing you. It just takes a long time to kill you right? We know for a fact that they’re not good for you. Ask any vegan who quit being a vegan after 20 something years!! Why? Why did they come back to eating animal flesh? Because they couldn’t get the nutrition they needed from plants it’s just that simple. Period full stop! I mean really honestly how much evidence does anybody need but then you know seal so good for you might as well have some ice cream while you’re at it right and right yeah rice how many billions of Chinese can’t be wrong right? What are used to be diabetic and rice was the first thing on the list of things I shouldn’t eat.!! It’s gotta be good for us right? I know some think that that’s a genetic thing. I have a genetic disposition for diabetes. Really? Imagine that. Nothing to do with lifestyle, huh? I can trace mine, cause and cure. Can anyone else know this without a doubt?! I know, now and I would bet it all that I am right. I’m no doctor, and maybe average intelligence, yet I figured it out. The how and why and the difference is that I will tell it to all or anyone and I may get loud or boisterous, but I call it being passionate about something. And I believe this to be the biggest medical problem we all face in the history of humans! I don’t hate and frankly I don’t care what people eat. It fracking saddens me to see people suffering for no good reasons!! I don’t call people names if they want to destroy the top soils for their monocrop farming or kill the millions of animals and bees and other insects so they can be vegan, but they better not come at me with that emaciated look they have and tell me I’m wrong. Do vegans do well when they go vegan? Absolutely! At first. Why? It’s not that they cut meat, but most cut all except plants when they start. Meaning no processed foods. It’s not till later they find out from each other they can eat cookies and the like, if eggs are kept out. BUT, a big but (lol) they need supplements! One and all! Why if that’s the proper diet? Carnivores don’t.
