I love how he missed the point of CoolPunk too, even to the point of hoping Grey's Peak would latch on to FungusScene as well. Actually I think everyone besides Fr33zer got the point of CoolPunk, me knowing it's a clear parody of vaporwave. Btw cool sona.

@@vladislav109 one of my favorite things to see is how on 11/26 Drippboy's well-meaning vandalism is all over the other fungus scene pages and FF gently tells him off. then on 12/31 all the vandalism is removed but Drippboy's page is still there in full effect! even when the other fungus sceners didn't want him, FF still made the scene a space for everyone. I have to appreciate his lack of gatekeeping as a community arbiter, even if it arguably led to the commercialization and downfall of Coolpunk.

Jerry Gilroy is one of my favorite characters in Hypnospace. He’s genuinely talented at music, he just doesn’t get the genres he’s creating for at all. He creates an emotional piano ballad for the sample-based CoolPunk, and later an upbeat dance song for the atmospheric Fungus Scene. I so want him to return in Dreamsettler, further misunderstanding niche genres.

I love that Father Fungus (actual FRE3ZER) totally accepts Jerry’s silly upbeat tune as part of Fungus Scene- Jerry posts ChitChat screenshots from a Fungus Scene group where FF openly welcomes Mushroom Hop as a Fungus track. Yeah it’s different and it doesn’t exemplify the atmospheric nature of the majority of tracks, but like all art, styles aren’t uniform- they can be whatever they want to be. FF seems like the type of guy to embrace flexibility in art

He missed his target by a mile and got made fun of for it, and maybe the lyrics weren't the greatest either... But I think he was onto something with the melody itself. It could be reworked into a different styled song and be much better received (it's not even that bad in its current state if you remove all context from it).
