Drive down Central Ave and Evergreen Ave in Bushwick Brooklyn NY

I was born in Bushwick, Brooklyn in 1969. My grandparents' house is on Cooper St. Cooper Ave is in Queens, not in Bklyn. St. Thomas Episcopal Church is on Evergreen Ave. Miss my birthplace.😥

@@BklynOutdoors that's ok. My grandparents' house is on the right in your video. It's the red one with the white window guards, red awning & brick fence in front. My mother went to Halsey Junior High School and Bushwick High School that was located @ 400 Irving Ave. Unfortunately, it closed its doors in 2006. My mother was the Class of '64.

It's not the same , hasn't been in a long time. I miss what it used to be, I was born at Wyckoff Hospital in '82, went to P.S. 274, then I.S. 383 then graduated Brooklyn Tech class of 2000. Once they started buying up the single and 2 family homes to build "Luxury Apartments" it all started going down hill. Graffiti, homeless, drug addicts and crime all increased. It stopped being the Bushwick I knew around 2010 (maybe even earlier) I ended up leaving in 2018 because of circumstances beyond my control, saw the house I lived in the first 36 years of my life get torn down like garbage only to be replaced by a sterile looking 3 floor apartment building. It's a shame, but it's inevitable, the way of the world.

@@BklynOutdoors My brother & I were also born in Wyckoff Hospital. I in 1969 & my brother in 1970. Went to visit there 8 yrs ago when my ex-husband reluctantly took my mother & I there to visit. My daughters were with me, but stayed in the car. My late father used to own a deli that was across the street from St. Thomas Episcopal Church, but has since been either torn down or taken over with a new name. It's been over 50 yrs. @@marilynnilson9225 The neighborhood has changed drastically in the last 5 to 10 years, some for the better, a lot for the worse, but I guess that is a matter of opinion. Thank you, I wish the same to you. Have a happy new year.

Thanks for the comment, the Street names should be visible on the bottom of the screen, Central Ave, turning on Cooper St., turning on Evergreen Ave, then Stockholm, Central again, then Stanhope, then Evergreen before ending at Flusing Ave.
