The drive from Queenstown to Franz Josef is a super popular route in New Zealand, used by many on their way to explore the stunning West Coast of New Zealand. From Queenstown, Franz Josef is 350 kilometers away and the drive without stopping takes between 4.5 to 5 hours. The road itself is pretty winding, and it passes lots of lakes, rivers, waterfalls, and viewpoints, making it one of the best drives in NZ. For most people , the drive will take much longer and to do it properly requires enough stops to make the trip take a full 7 to 10 hours. It's a whole day trip. It's fantastic to make it and record it.

The transformation in landscape vegetation is remarkable. I recall driving in the opposite direction, from Franz Josef to Wanaka, and witnessing the shift from a tropical rainforest-like environment to a temperate one. It's truly captivating. Appreciate the wonderful video! Thanks❤
