Drive Puebla to Oaxaca - Mexico

PUEBLA TO OAXACA
Today your guide will meet you at your hotel in Puebla at a pre-arranged time for your transfer to Oaxaca. The journey will take approximately four to five hours and you have the freedom to liaise with your driver to organise frequent stops to take photos, stretch your legs or get some food. The scenery along the route is beautiful and the drive is a very interesting way to travel to Oaxaca, as you can question the driver about local sites, cultures, and landscapes.

Nice video!! Thank you for posting. How long did it take you by car one way from Puebla to Oaxaca? Any obstacle, “dangerous”, crowded? We are planning to go in April. Kind regards 😉

Thank you for your comment, It's very much appreciated. The drive was about 5 hours including a stop for something to eat and drink. We had a local driver on the trip. It mainly wasn't too busy, but there are some big trucks sometimes and as expected it gets busier near the towns. We were stopped a couple of times going past a town where there was a gathering of people asking for "donations". They gave our driver a note explaining their claim and he gave them a few pesos and they let us pass. It was bit intimidating but in our case the driver was experienced and we were soon on our way. Have a great trip there is some beautiful scenery.

In April for a weekend (Fri-Sun). May be a bit too short to just stay for one day in Oaxaca with so much around there. We‘re thinking of postpone for Jan 25. Fly there from Mexico City and spend a little more time. Kind regards, Elmar

​@@elmarbartel2699 Hi Elmar, we were there in January 23. I think I preferred Oaxaca to Puebla but they are both beautiful places. Have a great holiday. Coming soon is the last part of our adventure in Mexico, Holbox island near Cancun, keep an eye out for it.

@@JeffFrankling Thanks Jeff! So we‘ll most likely go there in January next year - if God allows 😉 to kind of „skip“ our cold winter days here in Germany. Looking forward to your experience report on Yucatán!
