Tears in my eyes. Remembering how 25 years ago we piled everything into a UHaul, girl friend and dog and headed South. Heading back to my Texas roots, I cued up this John Hiatt song, rolled the windows down and sang at the top of my lungs. Girl friend has left, old dog has died… but that moment in my life still is clear as the day I hit the road driving south. Thank you F&F!! Once again your voices, guitars and drums have reminded me how beautiful, sad and still joyful music brings deep memories right up and out. You guys are the best! (John Hiatt too)

Sammy and Maggie have the ability to blend their voices together for a very beautiful unique sound.

That was the highlight, along with father and daughter blend- though I think his voice was actually more suitable for this song- I would have liked to hear him do the lead and her the harmony. Big fan of Hiatt but not so much of this particular song or Bogguss arrangement (?). Lead guitar once again lifts the band to another level. I must admit my favorite songs are the 60's-70's California rock era, particularly Maggie doing the lead, and Sammie always absolutely nails every note she sings. That to me is the core- beauty, soul, no vocal gymnastics or over-singing. Even on my lesser favorites, band and production are always top-notch.

Suzy Bogguss is one of my favorite singers. Her singing is effortless and pure. Sammy did an amazing job displaying that same effortless, on pitch, sweetness in this song. The harmony with the backup group made this version better than Suzy's and Sammy gave a great performance in the lead. Kudos to the whole group including the background musicians for this treat.
