I was fortunate enough to see The Cars in concert several times and this video brings back happy times / memories. They were not a flashy band but they were a band that when they played their songs they did sound like the studio versions. This song was made for Ben's voice. I can't picture anybody else singing this classic and one of the best songs ever recorded.

I saw the cars at Madison Square Garden when I was young... The best concert I ever seen!!! They played all their songs consecutively, no pauses no talking... Benjamin Orr was amazing... And gorgeous. May he rest in peace 🙏

Just 25 years ago I was enroute to St Louis from Las Vegas, somewhere over north Texas or sowest Kansas, had a walkman on, with FM a station would last about 4-5 minutes. This came on and played entirely before the station was lost. Now, old, retired, melancholic, I will never forget this piece and will always feel very sad hearing it. You are a genuine bud, benny11letters, and I thank you.

i've got a story with this song , so when i first came to the states i head it @ some restaurant in CT , i didn't understand any of the words cuz i wasn't good in English , but i got the beats and the melody and i loved it, couldn't find it though , after like four years i watched Transformers and i heard it, i jumped like crazy and asked my friends about it and i finally found it , that was back in 2009 , now i finished my degree and about to leave this beautiful country , i'm from Saudi Arabia

I just have to say that I remember this concert very well. They played to perfection! When Ben sang this song..there wasn't a girl in the crowd who wasnt screaming...and I was one of them. I was very sad to find out we lost Ben Orr. The Cars are without a doubt one of the best bands and live concert performances ever!

So I came across this readers digest article from when he died and liberty devito drummer for billy Joel who had been playing with Orr in his final band Big People had said at his final show in Alaska a week before his death he quietly said backstage to "skip Drive" I can't do it" and Divito said "all of us looked at each other and knew this was it" sad.

Just got home from visiting Benjamin's burial place and hometown. Hard to believe he is buried in the middle of nowhere in a country cemetery. I was there on his birthday. Also went to Cleveland and visited his home and high school and tried to imagine him being there...
