Glad you took other drivers into consideration, many don't and don't realize how dangerous they make it for them and the other driver. Bad headlight mods can cause head on collisions.

Looks nice. I went a different route for my headlight upgrade, but it's the end result that matters. Trying to get any good beam pattern from the stock housing is worthless. Rotating the motor by hand is the easiest way that I found to get that arm back in the slot. Also, taking out the painted headlight cover screws located in the back is easier with the headlight is down. I hope you won't be kicking yourself a little later for not changing out the headlight motor gears while you had that all apart (if they haven't been done already) Keep up the good work!

I just went with the Ebay version of the C5 projector lamp housings with the Halo ring - which cosmetically look identical for $200 - and then the HID bulbs with 55watt ballasts from HIDextra.com @ approx. $70. I put a set of these headlights in my C5 a few years ago. They are the best investment I've made for that car. Like you, I tried every thing else and there is no comparison. These are simply the best headlights you can put in a C5.

Amber drl's are where it's at. I remember seeing the c5 rolling for the 1st time and the amber drl's gave it a really gnarly presence imo. Definitely getting these style headlamps though. They are a necessary and perfect upgrade and give it a very fitting and current apperance without looking custom or ricey. I have the same color as yours and going to perform most of the mods you've done so far. They are just tasteful and keep the car mostly authentic. Great job 👏

I installed my ACA when it’s first came out $1200.00, in 2006? I used Philip HID bulb and ballast and still going on strong at present time. Philips HID on low beam and fog lights.

I am running through your C5 videos and what a joy, my ONLY complain is I just wanted the car to be a C6. Could you be so kind and next buy a C6 Z06 and give it the same overhaul as this nice and functional working and looking C5. About the HID bulbs and led yes you are spot on you want the correct reflectors behind the bulb. About the ballast, the manufacturers want them to be mounted in front of the radiator if possible to keep them cool. Big thanks .

No that is how they are supposed to be. The driver's side low beams are always cut off lower so it doesn't blind oncoming traffic. This is how all factory headlights are designed and good quality after market should be as well.

CMJ115 each projector has a cutoff that’s not a flat line, it’s lower for not blinding oncoming drivers on the left and then transitions to higher to able to reflect signs to the right of the road. That upper line is what I’m talking about should line up. If you look at any new car from the factory or dealer, you’ll see this is the case.

The ACAs are def the nicest pop-ups but with the halo tail lights... should have went with the RadioFlyer C5R non pop ups with Morimoto projectors... def the nicest headlight gor the C5 hands down...

They look Great, I question how long that 3m sticky will last. I only drive my c5 in the dark when I take it to work. Not often enough to justify a $600 upgrade with no performance gain. Just my opinion.

Projector housings make a major difference. You could probably put LED bulbs in those housings and get a similar quality of beam.

phenomenal video. As far as the video itself, maybe don't make the volume difference between elapsed time music and your speaking so great. You would be explaining things and then all of a sudden the elapsed video would begin and the music during that time was extremely loud lol. I have a huge sound system so it was a big difference. GTR lighting is expensive but worth every single penny.I put them in my 2000 SS Camaro and when people pass me they cut their brights on before they even get past me.They light up night like day.$240 for the low beam led bulbs but worth every penny.

I know that these work well but I think low rise projector setups like Sun Guns, 4eyeC5, etc. look significantly better, and of course create much less drag, while not being a fixed setup that doesn't belong on the C5.

I like the look of the product, and the more powerful beam that it put out. But having to use double sided tape to secure the ballast in place doesn't inspire confidence. I would prefer hardware that mounts more solidly with screws/bolts of some kind. As time wears on, and heat takes its toll, the adhesive that holds this securely will break away.

I like the look and how much light it throws out but not for me being I rarely drive my C5 at night time. My ‘99 Coupe with an original 37k miles on it is more of a Collector Car today so this is not a important mod that I feel I need to do.
