It came up in my KZbin recommendations, then I lost it. I searched again and again for an hour to find this one again. I'm glad I did. It explains perfectly why my UZJ100 has a bit of a thump to it. I was going to do all the bushings of the suspension and the one from the thumbnail (cause I could see that one was gone) but would have missed those other bushings because I was not knowing that there are Diff bushings as well. Thank you so much! If there are other bushings you think I should check/replace as well please let me know. All the bushings on my LC100 are pretty much gone but just finding them all and figuring out part numbers is the trouble.

Glad it helped! I replaced almost every bushing under my car. Vídeos are all in this playlist: Restore Handling and Ride Quality 100 Series Land Cruiser - Everything You Need to Know kzbin.info/aero/PLDmcZQkWExY8DLzDY5bQhNrbXx3WXp3_S

Nice video! I had a very different experience with the front bushing. It took forever to come out. The bushing that was in there had the alignment with the gap front to back, so that's how I put the new one in.

Did you have a 2.5 lb hammer and a chisel? I found that combo to work really well.

Have been chiseling that front one for half an hour now with no progress, why didn’t they make that bottom lip extrude a bit more like they did with cv axles, would’ve made removal so much easier
@JungleCattАй бұрын
Completely agree. Generally with LCs the components themselves (ex: front diff cover, brackets) are super modular which is great for easy replacement. But the cheapest route is often tougher.

@@JungleCatt Great way to charge the rich more for the whole cover, and make us work for it. :( Thanks for the video mate, I was able to remove it with my wife wedging a pry bar pushing hard on the top while I chiselled.

Could you tell me where you bought the parts, specifically the support brackets? I'm finding them much more expensive!

I just did this job yesterday, damm I did not watch you video before my job. I did try to alingment the bushing, but after pressing, the angle turned about 30 degree... ps, why not put some grease or anti sieze before pressing the bushing, you did not use it with the contral arm bushing also.
@JungleCatt Жыл бұрын
Mine pressed in pretty easily actually. Just didn’t need the grease but I think you could use it.

What direction should it be aligned to? Stiff rubber connections fwd/aft or driver/passenger side?
@JungleCatt9 ай бұрын
The stiff rubber connections go forward back, the gaps aligned to left and right.

Did the renewal of the parts fix the clunky sound when changing gears

Partially. The rest of it went away after replacing the drive flanges and CV axles. kzbin.info/www/bejne/gpq1XmaJaq1_eLc

can I use the same part numbers on an LX470?
@JungleCattАй бұрын
Most parts are going to be exactly the same. You should be good for differential parts
