Perfect! While the written instructions from MX5 Things is helpful, your video showed EXACTLY what to expect and see, and the little "how to's", while installing the controller. @@DriveMX5 You have really helped me with a volume of projects on my 2017 ND GT. I have installed the daytime lights fix, trunk light bar, trunk popup kit, automatic window controller, Carplay kit (including USB wireless connector), AEM air filter with new post airbox knuckle and did the noisemaker delete. I have ordered the headers to exhaust tip with tune as well. I am pondering if the upper strut tower brace is worth doing or what other upgrades would be fun.

Thanks for this video, I always find all of your content helpful. After a couple months, are the windows still working as programmed and do you notice any changes in how quickly or smoothly they move?

Thank you! I’m glad the video helps. So far I’ve had no issues. A couple times the auto controller failed to put the windows all the way up or down but I’ve never not been able to operate them manually and they still move at the same speed and smoothness as before the controller. Overall I’m still really happy with it!

Another quality video. I’ll be picking this up to install to make life easier. Any ideas why Mazda from the factory didn’t have this installed from the start? Thinking more on automatic, are you familier with any kits or mods for a remote start option ?

Unfortunately I don’t know anything about remote start kits. But I agree, Mazda could have integrated a light strip like this from the factory. Thankfully there are companies that make them for us regardless!

Yes, there is a way to do that but it does require the purchase of an extra cable. You have the option for key fob programming when you purchase the kit from MX5Things

Hey, so to change which way the window goes after putting the top down, all you need to do is go through the programming procedure again (5:51 in the video, also on the instructions from mx5things)

Hi, thank you for watching! At 5:56 in the video, I describe and show how to program the windows to go up or down when you open the top, depending on your preference. I believe the default programming is to have the windows go down when opening the roof. If you want them to go back up instead, then do this starting with the roof up: 1. switch ignition on (engine can be on or off) 2. unlatch soft top and leave it in this position, windows should go down about 4 inches 3. using the driver window switch, move both windows up a little bit 4. put softop down and lock it into place. The controller should now be programmed to move the windows up when you open the soft top and it should have done so at this point. If not, trying closing and opening the top again. If it still did not work, repeat these steps. If the windows are STILL going down when you open the top, refer to MX5Things for additional support. I hope this helps!

You mentioned the keyfob option but now they offer the RCF2 and there is no keyfob option so I am assuming it works with your stock fobs? Any knowledge on this?

@@DriveMX5 Golden, I had a re-look at this install instructions and the connector you were holding onto (red and black wires) gets taped into the main controller connector on the door. That being said your harness has more capabilities to use the stock door lock button and fob(s) you just need to wire that plug in.

just curious, would you be looking into a mod that makes the elbow rest from inside the door panel a bit more roomy? since the factory one is so narrow they could have as well left the inner door flat

I agree with you there. I’ve thought about trying to design and produce one since I’m not aware of any aftermarket options but have not put the time and effort into it yet. Plus trying to add the leather, foam, stitching, etc would, in my mind, make the cost too high
