How was the insurance about paying out? Amount, timing, hassle and was there a deductible?
@DriveMX5Күн бұрын
@@djparra41 no insurance. Regular car insurance won’t cover incidents on track and I’m not going to lie to them. Paid for it out of pocket and ended up being a few hundred more expensive than my deductible with track insurance would have been. Lesson learned (I didn’t buy track insurance this time)!
@djparra41Күн бұрын
@ ah I misunderstood. Kind of new to your channel, but I was wondering why you switched from the Ohlins to the Meister Rs? I am between Ohlins and Tecna from Supermiata. Don’t wanna over look a good product lol
@DriveMX5Күн бұрын
@ no worries, I see my caption was a bit unclear! I switched because truthfully the Ohlins I had were a bit rough on the road. I got them used with unknown mileage and 10k front/6k rear springs. I switched the rear springs to 4k, which is what Ohlins recommends and comes with from their factory, but still felt too firm. At that point, I figured totally changing the springs and getting them rebuilt (Ohlins recommends rebuilding the shocks ever so often, can’t remember the interval off the top of my head). But the price of that vs. selling them and trying something brand new and making content with it wasn’t enough to justify, so I tried something new and enjoyed them for road use. Not perfect, but they felt better just driving normal roads than the Ohlins did

@@DriveMX5 thank you I appreciate your input. I have a 2020 RF Club BBR and I really enjoy the stock suspension’s ride and would hate to ruin that, but of course want to lower it just a tad and if I Could at the same time limit the body roll. I think that would be ideal. I think this helped me make the decision or at the very least. I should link up with a few other ND owners that has swapped out to coilovers and ask them for a ride

This video just saved me. 1 month ago I changed a rear caliper and adjusted the bolt on the caliper but I didn't know there was one in the front too, lately I noticed that when I put on the handbrake and moved to get out the car sounded weird, just today when I got home it stopped working I was going to take the wheels off and look at the adjustments but I found this video, I have no idea how that bolt can loosen by itself but I tightened it and everything is fine.

Based on your experience, is it possible to salvage the holes the splitter screws into if the tabs are cracked in half? I accidentally drove over debris and am currently deciding if it’s worth trying to salvage the bumper, since the crack is small and out of the way, and install a new lip on my own, or just go through insurance.
@DriveMX54 күн бұрын
@@jessehenderson9864 how bad is it cracked? You could try to use some oversized washers on that hole to cover the crack and grab onto more of the plastic tab on the bumper

I purchased the Fab9 Edelbrock | E1 Tune | The Anti-Surge package, and have yet to receive anything. Fab9 told me I have to first send them my vehicles data logs. How? I thought they were sending the product, I install the EcuTek and then get the readings. Fab9 is awful with instructions and the process for getting anything completed. Their website is just as disorganized and hard to understand. I have an Edelbrock supercharger on my ND2. Talking with someone there, they sent me a link to purchase their product for an NC. Ugh! I’ve about had it with this company. I can only imagine what kind of error codes my car will end up with if I ever get the product I purchased to begin with.

Never use a crescent wrench to remove a bolt. Its too easy to slip and round it off. Buy a socket or a closed end wrench.

It may not be the best choice, but it’s a bolt you only touch once or twice during ownership. Get the wrench tight enough on it and go slow and it won’t slip, it’ll be fine

Hi! I want to ask you why you changed from ohlins to meister? What coilovers would you recommend me for mainly road usage? (sporty drive) Thanks!
@DriveMX52 ай бұрын
I wanted a better ride quality and to try something new. The Ohlins I weren't too harsh, but nowhere near as comfortable as stock. I purchased them used with unknown mileage on them and they came with stiff springs on them. My guess is that they were valved for stiffer springs since the previous owner would autocross frequently. I wanted something better for the road and was able to sell the Ohlins for not much less than what I bought the Meisters for, and get to try something new. I enjoyed them and while I have not explored all the options out there, I did enjoy the koni yellow/goodwin lowering spring combo. Way cheaper than a good set of coilovers but still height and damping adjustable. I'd recommend them for sporty road use, maybe even a less stiff spring like Eibach if you live around bumpy roads.

@@DriveMX5ok I understand. Thanks for the long explanations and for the recommendation. I’ll definitely go for the Ohlins. Thanks dude
