I should have put it on the dyno before doing the exhaust. After it put down 169whp on a Mustang dyno. I'm sure it made a slight increase in power. The engine does feel peppier! Could also be because it's screaming at me louder lol. Either way I'm super happy with it!

Do yourself a favor and buy an exhaust hanger removal tool. They’re like $13 and make removing the exhaust a breeze. We replaced ours super quick. Also, use some WD40 on the hangers when installing the new exhaust.

I just reused the old one. Haven’t noticed any leaks, thankfully

Just set up an order for a 2022 that I want for longer road trips and local spirited driving. how accurate is the 50% increase in sound that they mention in the description of that muffler? Not really intending to mod it right out of the box, but some preliminary searching never hurt right?

I would say very accurate. It’s noticeably louder and has a much better tone IMO. But it’s definitely not too loud as a daily driver and is very mild while cruising on the highway

@@DriveMX5 Thanks! That's good to know, now I just have the hardest part of waiting for the car. I remember hearing another goodwin muffler once upon a time and thinking they have a, for lack of better term, "true" roadster sound. I'm seriously looking at this once I'm more used to my MX-5.

@@DriveMX5 Ha, I wish. Dealer says 6 months. There are some disadvantages to living in Wisconsin I guess. If it wasn't for the snow I'd have had an NA for at least 10 years now.

No drone at all, it's perfectly mild when cruising and loud but not too loud when flooring it

Any noticable drone in the time since you put it on? I know you said there wasn't any in a previous comment, but thought I'd ask again to see how its been in all that time. Also, did you delete the sound tube with this exhaust? How's that been?

None at all! Still sounds amazing even 2 years later and I have had no issues with it. I did not delete the sound tube, but am debating on doing that in the future. Some say it doesn't make a difference, others say it cleans up the noise in the cabin and allows you to hear the exhaust better

@@DriveMX5 I deleted the sound tube pretty early on with mine.. and it definitely made a big difference at least with the stock exhaust. Not sure if it would be as noticeable with the louder exhaust. But I guess the sound isn't bothering you anyway

Since the exhaust takes up less space underneath, is the underside aerodynamically affected? Does it create any stability issues at higher speeds? I watched a video of someone installing a Verus rear diffuser and claims it helps with the above issues due to smaller exhausts

Have not noticed, but I did just pick up that same diffuser, I’ll let you know the difference after I install it!
