Too much of a price spread across all three cars. Mustang Dark Horse now costs same as Camaro ZL1. You should compare those two. Yes ZL1 is actually a GT500 competitor, but cost is part of the purchase decision. And M2, well that's way out of the price range. Realistically, based on price, you should compare it with M240i. Or even M440i based on price and size. If you absolutely must compare it against the Camaro SS, please at least compare it against the SS 1LE. It will have same 6-piston Brembos, same wide wheels & tires, same Tremec manual and co-developed 10-speed auto, same magna ride dampers, etc..

Too damn heavy for an N8 V8, NA V8s sports coupes should ve light to be fast and fun, this car is near 4100 lbs with driver ans fluids, too damn heavy. Ford lost the plot. A missed opportunity to say the least. They use AL for their trucks, so why not for Mustangs a 35-3600 lbs Dark Horse is whats ideal, this thing is a fat pig. Add to it the Mustang has a twin cam dohc 32v V8, the low end torque will be underwhelming and ultimately its going to be slower than GT350Rs and a fat failure for V8 sports car enthusiasts

Its not like the Mustang is bad by any means, but Ford had really all it has, Aluminium, a superb engine and gearbox and a good rear end. But they made it a Lexus ISF heavy coupe, thats crappy job by Ford Mo Co

As a Camaro guy, I’d love to get one of these in a few years, as it’s really grown on me. But these prices are getting insane, especially while there’s supposedly going to be a Shelby coming as a 2026 model. (Yes, I know I should get the Camaro but it’ll be harder to find one speced the way I’d like it)

Ya there's no way 80k for a mustang 5.0 would be an option for me. I'd get a c7 z06 and be cheaper, sound better, look better and be faster in all regards while getting the same gas mileage 😂😂

Being a Corvette guy looking in, I’m not overly impressed. Sound is amazing though They’re not showing g’s and not showing speed all the way through the video. I will say it’s a nice looking vehicle that sounds really mean. For me that never gets old. Mustang is still a great value for your dollar…

Honestly i never thought I’d say this but the dct from gt500 is so good I rather it than the manual, I’m converted especially for fast driving and controllability. I’ll wait for the gt3 this is way I have spoken 😂

I have a 2021 GT500. - FORD all the way. It's more fun than my C8. - Faster - more stable. - More able. Absolutely stunning capability all around. I haven't even thought about a Dark Horse. Had a Camaro SS for a month. Traded it for a CT4-V Black Wing. Once again. Didn't even look back. Thanks for the content.

Not 100 percent sure. I know that the previous Mach 1 was around high 3800’s to 39. The gt500 was in the 4200’s.

Honestly was hoping we got this same powertrain because its amazing capable of 1200whp on stock sealed engine in 2nd and 3rd gen coyote and have gotten stock sealed coyote mustang gts have run 7s with built trans stock sealed coyote basically boost and fuel system and f150s 8s in the 1/4 mile same but being awd they can do it on thw streets and short bed single cab wrighs 4500 4400lbs which is hellcat weight s550s and all modern cars weigh more because of safety features computers etc. Also mustang gained weight when it started being a sports car. in reality mustangs dont compete with hellcats and camaros they somehow are compared with corvettes. Go to a track even street s550s weigh less and can get power down so they usually will beat fatcats. ZL11LE Camaro is top dog 650ish hp but problem is like a hellcat and vettes they all need built internals heads cams pistons rods to make the HP a stock sealed coyote or coyote varients like the gt500 5.2L supercharged predator and the gt350 5.2L FPC 8500rpm v8 all those are essentially a coyote. Being 32 valve dohc vtec so (high revving 7700rpm gt or gt500) but with tune 8500 to 8700rpm its like having 2 honda vtec engines welded together!! My wish was the s650 instead of fox gauges they would go smaller light weight fox retro mustang because i become sooooo iconic. but yes 3800lbs for s550 v8 even ripping everything out they only get down to 3200 completely gutted with a super light weight kirky race seat another reason tbey are heavier is ford went to independent suspension in 2015 which is heavier but can make turns. hall ats cant take turns if YOUR life depends on it so some opt out and put solid stra. now gt500 base with heated and cooled seats 72k probably close to 4200lbd with handling pack which is front spliter wickers rear gurney flap added to base spoiler and lighter recaro seats oil catch can they are like 78k. about 4130lbs with carbon fiber track pack 88k to 100k depending if you get 10k painted stripes. but you get front splitter wicker but bug carbon fiber wing and more adjustable suspension and big is the lightweight carbon fiber wheels and rear seat removal they come in closer to 4000lbs still heavy all heavy do to supercharger supercharger cooled dual clutch trans is heavy and coolers for it but that what makes this heavy car get around and down a track faster than or within a second of cars like Ferrari f8 tributo Lamborghini huracan evo and porsche gt3rs for a fraction of the price and with great reliability. that dct though is why they gt500 has gotten 10.5 1/4 mile but is more like 11s because its a road course car for once gt500 isnt just a straight line one trick pony its a sports car!!

​@@IMGONEIN60 But they're not really aiming at the same thing. A Challenger can legitimately carry four adult men and all of their stuff for hundreds of miles and not result in notable complaints. It's a usable muscle car and doesn't claim to be a sports car. That's ok.

@@IMGONEIN60 And I think that's the point. Closing in on 4000 pounds for a car that's more targeted towards driving dynamics and a back road blast is a bit counter to where many hope to see cars go. I know they keep getting better at hiding the weight, but that only is so successful.

Nice!! Manufacturers need to do away with the shark fin antenna. Maybe it should be more like a little stub on top of the car instead of that shark fin design. Or somehow build it into the rear window or C-pillar.

If this thing runs hard like my 10 speed 21… It’s game over with some long tubes and a full borla system .. and then throw some e85 for a near death experience!! Easy 600+ hp (also a little CAI and tune )

@@Shiftnlift 525 is a stretch for sure. A good cobra jet setup gen 3 with twin 69mm doesn’t touch that power. The main difference is the dual throttle body’s, which isn’t as big of a gain as everyone thinks.

@lucienlacourciere with cams they do..current coyotes 460 stock not including that carbon trap filter that took 10 hp away. Dark horse is up 40 hp you. Can't think that's its much of a stretch for this car to hit over 500 wheel with bolt ons. Pretty easily. Longtubes e85 cobra jet this car can obtain that.also it's more than just dual throttle bodies. It's a unique balance crankshaft and stronger camshafts

This is an amazing car. That said, wow sports cars have gotten heavy. 3900 lbs seems like a lot. Just thinking of the C6 Z06 that produced a similar 505 factory hp but is/was faster and only weighed 3100-3200ish.

If the Camaro looked this good. It wouldn't be discontinued after the 2024 model year. Remember the Mustang has never ended production. This is the 2nd time for the Camaro.

at 60s and 70a mustangs even 70 boss 302 ford has been using that rear line for the hunches way before camaro did. ford is trying to evolve it while keeping that old 60s 70s retro style they went with in 05 and slowly adjust it otherwise ppl freak even more with bigger face lift. .me personally i wanted and hoped for smaller light weight retro foxbody 5.0 . yes IRS modern safety and computers make make cars heavy but no reason they couldn't follow fox recipe it weighs under 3000 lbs and as low as 2500lbs with v8. hence why ppl want them so bad originally for LS and SBF builds but now ppl are pulling the LS to do coyote 3000lbs with a 420hp coyote from a truck when the v8s of fox time were like 225hp 300lbft torque then need stroker kit/built motor and boost to maeke what a stock coyote truck motor can do. but then that same coyote gen 2 and 3 can make as high as 1200whp on a stock sealed engine just boost and fuel and has jad heavier f150s run 8s and mustang gts 7s in the 1/4 mile stock sealed motor boost and fuel do that properly to a fox body lol

You could not have driven on that track driving a Dodge charger or Challenger, you would have been in the grass, in the stands, at the snack bar, crashing in the parking lot somewhere because your brakes would have went out a long time ago on lap number one. No matter if you were driving a scat pack a kitty cat a wide body orange eye, or a 392. All of those cars have one thing in common, they all are raggedy as hell, but there's a lot of fools out there purchasing them. Driving on this track with a Charger or Challenger, you would have crashed before you finish that one. Dodge uses the cheapest car parts they can find!

This car is a flop no communication between the driver and car from what ive heard whoever buys this car is just a ford mustang fanboy or arent a real car person buy an older mustang it will be an investment after ppl realise this car comes without a soul the numbers are great but uts not enough for 70k

goodness sakes that is a heavy car, trunk full of lead? Is that dry weight or full tank at 4950? Why couldn't Ford have saved weight somewhere. With two people in it it will be around 5500 lbs! Beautiful beast.

It’s still a mustang that has all that baggage that comes with it. Kids with their loud ass mufflers ( raspy noise) that drive on the streets embarrassing the older crowd. Can’t be seen dead in a mustang ….sorry.

I got close to satisfying my third midlife crisis (haha) at 50 last summer and buying a convertible GT. Did a ton of online research and tracked down one in Maine specced out way i liked. Test drove it with GF. The muffler was so loud even in quiet mode under normal acceleration I walked away. It's just too obnoxious for someone my age. I don't want to turn heads on a swivel each and every time I accelerate even slowly from a light. Maybe my midlife crisis needs to he much deeper than it is. No sale.

To be honest I’m still in the mach 1 camp. Maybe a year from now my brain will adjust to the darkhorse. But as on now after seeing the 2024 mustang GT in person in Jan I’m still a fan of the 2021 mach 1. The darkhorse is just bland looking and just too much like a basic rental car at hertz lots. No thanks FP you lost something with this design. Especially the front end. Now the 2025 GTD front end fixed that big mistake.
