Well the car originally looked like a car that'd make a good hot rod but after some body panels started coming loose it kinda looked like as if somebody started chopping the body.

Mario Maniac Yes, after some the damage it did start to look more obviously like one, but that’s not to say that it wasn’t one to begin with. Hot rods are a spectrum, and the side exit exhaust, exposed engine, and wider rear tires seem indicator enough that the car was just less of a bare-bones drag monster, but definitely still modified significantly.

Man the little car turned out surprisingly tough. And in regards to the initial cooling, I don't know if Beam models it to this level and I don't know if this is correct to begin with, but with the Chisai's engine being so small it may cool more easily than the bigger engines. Or perhaps there was less coolant as time went on and that's why the heat goes up faster and faster. Just my two guesses. But that was an *epic* run, so great it took up the majority of the video. :D Can't wait to see the next episode!

@@derPetunientopf it's always been a problem, the ground textures include many different colours and vary in brightness, so KZbin compression doesn't have enough pixels to go around for beamNG videos

@@derPetunientopf the video has to be compressed because a 10 minute video with a 1080p resolution at 60fps is an ache to upload to the internet because every pixel usually changes a lot throughout the video, that's a LOT of data to stream from the internet, so if KZbin deems an area where less pixels can be used, they take those away and put them somewhere they deem more useful for the viewer

I'd like to see you run the AT-TE inspired mod through this circuit and the post apocalypse track. I've given it a shot in the desert and it's certainly a unique experience. I haven't run it through the proving grounds but it doesn't really have the falling parts and deformation. Plus it'd probably break the spinners.

The official measure of banananess is the "bunch". A one bunch bananaed car is defined as having the front end of the chassis bent 1 banana (approx 9 inches) higher than it should be. When the Crashard Classic went out, it had a banananess of approximately 2 bunches. The Chisai was bannanaed 0.5 bunches when it went out.

watching the little kei car go, and just noticed bluish smoke coming out of the exaust. a sign of burning oil. either the piston rings are broken so that more oil than is normal is getting into the cylinders, or there is a hole in the head gasket connecting one of the oil galleries to the head and valvetrain with the cylinders. i think one of these things happened already, so that's kinda cool Beam NG's paying attention to those small details

In demo derbys those small front wheel drive cars are quite effective, they just drive around in reverse the whole time because damage to the rear does nothing to them. They end up looking like crumpled pieces of paper and still manage to drive fine. Being front wheel drive makes them better in the mud too.

Based on what i've seen across these series, cars which are tiny and light-weight (such as small hatchbacks) either get immediately destroyed (because they're flimsy) or survive forever (because they're too light to cause themselves serious damage). It's rarely anything in between.

Is it possible to change the spinners' positions each lap? They're a cool obstacle but I feel they're under-utilized. I don't know how much scripting is possible in beam but perhaps something like: a speedtrap to check how fast you're going through the spinners, if you're doing 40 or above all is well but if you're below 40 then the spinners move a little closer together (maybe have 5 steps before it's impossible to get through cleanly - so 5 under 40 laps) until eventually you can't sneak through... It may be an interesting trade-off, do I go faster and risk smashing now or go slower but with eventually guaranteed smash..
