This is enough car for like 99% of people. Efficient, decently quick, spacious hatchback, awd, reliable, good resale, sleek looking for what it is. Toyota oughta sell a ton of these.

@@dyinglee7074 it’s all relative. Really depends what you drove previously. If you had a 10+ year old Toyota sedan with 200k+ miles that you’re replacing (as Toyota buyers commonly do), the new Prius will drive like a rolls royce in comparison…

I had a 2019 xle prius and i loved it! Gas was $25 full tank.Gass price was between $2.60-$2.87. Lasted me for over a week and half. I would do about 50-58mpgs,my wife would get around 65 mpgs. I did deliveries and other riding gigs. So about 68-110 miles a day. Love all the saftey tech that came with it,how queit it was and very roomy. I think of getting another one, newer or go fully EV

I had a brand new base model Prius with 37km(22miles) as a rental when I was visiting Japan and I liked it a lot. It pretty much ticked all the boxes I would want as a DD, it was very efficient and it's a nice looking car. I would consider getting one if wasn't for the 1-2 year waitlist we have up here in Canada.

We ordered a 2022 Prime SE in 2022. 21 months later a 2024 finally arrived. The day we collected it the dealer told us the lead-time was then 3 years! Worth the wait?. Yes. we have driven the car 13,300km...................on just over three tanks of gas. In summer conditions, I can reach 100km in EV Mode.

42 MPG is the average that I typically get in my RAV4 hybrid XSE. So yes, you are definitely driving the Prius incorrectly. You do not always have to floor the gas, you know. It is not an on-off switch.

Seems like this gen prius is weird. Plenty of reviewers and drivers in forums get low 40s in mpgs, but also plenty reporting great numbers. Feels like something is tuned incorrectly here cause the camry hasn't been this inconsistent.

Yeah hes not driving it correctly, hybrids like this you need to drive different from a normal ICE car. In our 2025 civic sport touring hybrid I make it a little game to go as long as possible before the engine kicks in, that usually means accelerating slower than I otherwise would normally.

Well done substitute TheTopher. I like how you mentioned the A pillar visibility. I had an RDX that I loved and a minor complaint I had was that the A pillars were pretty big and obscured visibility. It was only when I turned onto roads where the angle was a bit acute and that pillar lined up with the road - that's a problem with any car but when the pillar is thicker then its a problem. I didn't really notice this until a good week or so after i bought the car. I very well MIGHT have considered not buying it had I known.

I was thinking of buying a new prius in the eu, but I went for a test-drive and discovered it has literally zero space in the back. My hight is 185cm and I couldn't seat behind myself/ It is phisically impossible, because I have legs and head. Also it has zero headroom both in the front and in the back. My head was touching the ceiling in front, even though the seat was completely down. It is simply impossible for someone taller than a dwarf to sit in the back. You have to fold your body in half. I'm not kidding. It is very disappointing. Well done Toyota, you created a car that can only be fully used by dwarfs.

I think it's one of the best looking, most beautiful cars on the market with incredibly cool and updated design. Much better than any a Tesla or other EV. But..... That windshield lets way too much sun onto the driver. Sometimes it's like driving a convertible and of course you can't cover that windshield at all. The A pillars are quite thick and make me nervous about confidently making that left turn without being overly cautious. t's also very low to the ground which makes it quite possible to get stuck in a snow bank even with AWD. I also find back seat head room to be limited.... for my German Shepherd, which is the only thing that sits back there. Great car but like many other "great" cars, overpriced and there might are better options if you need more room and/or drive in heavy snow.

driving funs is escaping perceived danger and driving style for lower emissions to whatever extent you wish emissions driving rules means: exponential accelerator pedal compression pace from around 5 miler per hour , optimal energy level , engine RPM . put down more power than that before uphills and on downhills brake and steer minimally and steadily. (tire wear and weight is bad in emissions too) bike better than car, safety is unlikely to be a issue especially if skilled and quick accelerating. uber eats container, rubber egg crates, silicone bag , etc (micro plastic carcinogenic xeno estrogen emission of plastic wearing off from friction, heat, moisture, , potential partially airborne like in tire wear dust, etc). i can explain why lightweight and maybe combustion only is probably best for "environmental" and fun reasons. to allow high grip tires yet infinite range of steering, impoosible speeds etc. o motor sports should be virtual reality only
