At 78.1 inches wide, it will be a tight fit through the garage door. Jaguar definitely made some cost cutting here, especially how the entire interior panel is moving when Tom was pressing the Push Start Button @ 1:29. Also there are much Black Honeycomb motif going on in the front.

Great video Tom as always. Question: I noticed that very often when you press the Start button in cars the surrounding plastic will flex. Can you actually feel it flexing when pressing? It doesn't look good, from a perceived quality perspective at least.
@DrivenCarReviews6 жыл бұрын
Often times it's an extreme side angle and a very tight shot so it's exaggerated a bit on video. The operator will be facing it head on so it's less obvious. While I noticed it (that's kind of my job) it didn't bother me as much as some in the comments. This is not the only car- expensive or not- to do that. I often let shots speak for themselves so people can make up their own minds on what a deal breaker is for them. Otherwise my videos would a half hour long.
@ClassicBMWFanInQuebec6 жыл бұрын
@@DrivenCarReviews You're right, the angle and zoom level probably exaggerates the panel flex. Thanks for the response Tom!

So a $11K Chevy Spark can have standard Apple carplay/Android auto, but a $50K Jaguar has it as an extra cost option of $300. Wow.
@stephenhendricks1036 жыл бұрын
Much like that $300 a night hotel room with a $20 charge for wifi while the budget motel down the street provides it for free. This is one of those "If you worry about the price, it's not for you" kinda things.
@redorange6 жыл бұрын
Stephen Hendricks sure if you want to think of it that way. But for $50K I expect not to pay extra for thing that GM can provide standard. Btw auto parking is standard on this vehicle so a software update should not be $300. These luxury brands are really taking advantage of people being idiots.
@stephenhendricks1036 жыл бұрын
@@redorange I wouldn't deny that. My comment was simply meant to suggest that it's not an unusual practice in the sale of luxury goods including autos. Jaguar is not alone in charging for Apple CarPlay/Android Auto. It's common among several European luxury brands. Presumably, they do it because customers pay for it. Customers for mainstream brands, presumably, are not willing to do so.
@richardtargett41286 жыл бұрын
redorange It could be worse, Ferrari charge over $4000 for Apple CarPlay
@stephenhendricks1036 жыл бұрын
@@richardtargett4128 Perhaps worth noting that a sociologist/economist, Thorstein Veblen, coined the term "conspicuous consumption" well over a hundred years ago. It referred to the willingness of consumers to pay a premium for goods that demonstrated their affluence to others. In this case, paying a premium for Apple Carplay/Android Auto demonstrates that purchasing a Ferrari or a Jag isn't such a big deal for the purchaser. Conversely, failing to add such an option would suggest that poor old Reggie was stretching the budget just to buy the car without the option.
