Bravo on mentioning Charging Etiquette! The movie theater I go to has a row of chargers and a lot of times spaces are taken up by EVs NOT charging. They use the spots like a handicap spot. I’ve seen EV drivers looking for a place to charge and not be able to because a spot is taken by someone not charging. It’s ridiculous and worse than if the spot was Iced by a pickup.

I’ve seen the cones there too! I doubt the execs running Electrify America use their own product/service, since there is only one such station near their office. Your video on the super-raised prototype CT back in 2018(?) really grabbed my attention, and I've been focused on the CT ever since your great video and test drive all those years ago. My main wish is that Porsche had given us a more-raised CT4 like your "Mission E CT" was, as an electric replacement for my 23-year-old Cross Country V70 wagon. I don't like SUVs but I do like lifted wagons; I need that extra ground clearance that my old Panamera Sport Turismo E-Hybrid just didn't have (scraped ground on driveway dips and speed bumps way too often). The two biggest things that the CT4 lacks in America are one-pedal driving (as you and almost every other reviewer says is a horrible miss by Porsche, at least to give the driver the *option* of using it) and allowing for an all-metal roof (like European buyers can get).
@DrivenCarReviews6 ай бұрын
As time goes on, I use one pedal driving less and less. I'm kind of coming around to Porsche's thinking (even though, yeah, it should be an option). I find I react to emergency situation faster without one pedal driving since I'm trained to just lift off the throttle to brake. So for me there's kind of a delay before my brain goes "wait, I need to brake HARD". I'm a huge sunroof fan so I'm okay with that.

I think the taycan is the car that pull people's minds away from Tesla and tesla fanboyism. A great contender that opens the market (and minds) for rivals from others brands. And competition is always good for buyers. And, on top of that, the performance, the pedigree and the style can lure a lot of petrolheads into EVs. This, as Tesla, is a gamechanger; even when for most of us, it is just a dream car.

ok, then give one-pedal driving as an option to the driver; they can then opt to use it or not... Most drivers would probably use it. I can say this as both a three-ICE-Porsche owner and an EV owner. There's no way that it's not a Porsche if it allows the driver to use one-pedal driving -- for same reason that this argument fails because Porsche has ACC and LKA (and Innodrive) as options in all its vehicles.

You are clown, dude! 85% of Porsche EV customers are charging the Taycan at home ... at NIGHT! Do you know what this is or means...?? Here in Germany, with the 22 kW Taycan charging option for AC charging at home, the Taycan battery is fully charged from 0-100% in just 4.5 hours. You are claiming quite bullshit, because with some calculating and searching for DC charging stations which have serious 270 kW charging power, you will have no issues with a Taycan even on longer trips. It still has a reason, why the fastest EV at the EV Cannonball race from US coast to coast was a Porsche Taycan. With the Taycan you are still faster in real life than with a much slower charging Tesla at Supercharger, period! Although, Tom in this video had some trouble with charging at an Electrify America DC fast charging station, in reality you will get a Taycan fully charged without any issues. Just use your brain for searching proper DC charging stations before your battery is empty. Electrify America, IONITY or EnBW DC fast charging stations here in Germany are so much faster than Tesla Supercharger. Tesla Superchargers are really fucking NOTHING compared to much faster and perfectly working EnBW DC fast charging stations, at least here in Germany. You get fully 270 kW charging at these stations for a Taycan and the Porsche gets a fully charged battery in only half of the time as what you get at a Supercharger with a Tesla. Tesla Superchargers are really far away from these numbers, dude!

You are correct you would need more time in an EV, I would guess you would add about 1.5 hours. Keep in mind that trip is at least 10 hours of driving. Unless you take this trip often that advantage is small in real life. One caveat with EVs is home level 2 charging is required to make them usable IMO. A Honda Accord isn't a comparable vehicle, a comparable ICE vehicle would cost at least 80k. Example, an Audi S7 is 85k.
