I used to play this game with my cousin on the afternoons... we really enjoyed the cutscenes and the sound of cars, we dream about having our V8 car like the ones here, now my cousin has gone, he died two years ago, he was like my brother and I really miss him... this video remind me those times, brings tears on my eyes... Watching years later as an adult, I'm appreciating the brilliant noir aesthetics in these cutscenes. Very ahead of it's time, this game. I'm also appreciating how much Caine sounds like Auron from Final Fantasy X.

yeah i know but i dont think it applies to this game. the graphics yeah, but certainly not the cut scenes. the cut scenes for the driver games were ahead of their time and still hold up. I can watch Driv3rs cutscenes and I feel like i'm watching a 70 acton B movie :p

Nearly a decade late replying to this comment, but it looks like somebody by the name of Stefan Aston Frank played Tanner. He’s done some fairly big work in the last decade with amazing world of gumball where he played mr. Robinson. Some recent video games to his credit include Horizon Zero Dawn and everybody’s favorite train wreck, Cyberpunk 2077

I know this sequel and the original game and all other games in this series were based on the 1978 film The Driver starring Ryan O'Neal, but I always envisioned what if there was a movie based on the video game.. I would choose Kevin Bacon for the role of John Tanner, Samuel L. Jackson for the role of Tobias Jones, Drew Carey for the role of Pink Lenny, David Draiman for the role of Solomon Caine and so on

Its amazing that todays games have real-time graphics and sound as good as if not better than these pre-renders. Especially in textures and skins. Still love the story in Driver 2.

+Sh4un1r1k I thought that initially but I compared it to the graphics in GTA V and I think that the graphics in the cut scenes of Driver 2 still are visually superior to the playable graphics in modern games, look at the beginning scene where Pink Lenny get's shot at in the bar for example - Which video game currently has playable graphics which has lighting and visuals as impressive as that? Don't get me wrong the short jump in graphics from consoles such as the PlayStation One and the Nintendo 64 to modern consoles such as the PS3 is nothing short of amazing, around twelve years ago I never would have envisioned that graphics would look anywhere near the level of 'cut scenes' in games such as Driver 2. Judging by the acceleration in the quality of graphics it will probably happen soon though.

Driver 2 takes place in 4 different locations there's 2 discs Chicago and Havana story missions are on disc 1 and and disc 2 had Rio and Las Vegas missions!
