Just tried this today. Worked up from the drill to my full swing. I’m going to try it out on the range tomorrow, but it already feels like it solved my issue of the ball going to the right. Now my shots to straight or slightly to the left depending on how I place the club face at setup. Thank you!

I actually started loving my driver whilst learning from watching you swing yours. That's when I began that counterintuitive leaning of the driver at set up. It's scary good, long and consistent. Gave me a setup. Still working on the irons, so maybe you'll do something there--setup-wise. Enjoy your lessons, Dave! Thanks!

Push the ball so far forward in your stance you hit it thin, then back it up slowly until you find the center of the club face. Pretty much how I figured out my ball position with Driver :)

Coach, i have a question please! When setting up with the ball out front in your stance, is the backwards shaft lean more of a feel than a literal lean? Tried this earlier and obviously the face closes with the shaft lean and its not pointing to target so it got into my head a little bit - do you set up with the club face square, and then lean your shaft and swing with the clubface closed? To get the lean and face pointing the same way, i found myself closing my stance off to target and almost hitting behind my lead hip (like another drill I've seen on slicing, I'd feel silly doing it on the course though! 😂)

Tried it and did hit it straight and bombs. Don't know if it went farther than my regular setup. Just don't tilt your shoulders or you will sky it, which I did a couple of times. But, it is nice when you can hit it straight, now, if I can get it to draw as well.

Ha ha...been fighting this for awhile! Started almost two years ago and everybody has said my ball is to far forward when i am hitting 260-70. I have spent so much time trying to ruin my swing because of listening to other people....thanks Fink-er!
@davefinkgolfs6 ай бұрын
this is my biggest issue with golf. people trying to stop beginners from swinging the club like an athlete. it’s so toxic. just let people do their thing and have fun and why try to correct someone who is hitting it far and straight? go back to being you, just with more information about cause and effect. that’s all you need + practice. you got this !

This something I’ve been struggling with. I am a very new golfer, I started golfing in Feb of this year and so many people try and tell me so many different things. When I listen to them I tend to do worse because I am overthinking about all of the “tips”. When I relax and do what feels natural I can shoot way better.

@@davefinkgolfs just got back from the range. Had a stiff wind in my face. My last lesson we were working on releasing the driver. I had fought a slice most of my life but lately had been hitting everything left due to turning the head over too soon. Today I had feet together and ball teed in front of me. Wow I could really feel what releasing the club should feel like. According to across my driver average is 206 after last five rounds. Using this method, into the wind I was putting them by the 215 flag! Only issue was a few I left face open and with the wind really pushed them right. Not playing again until Tuesday so I will be working hard on this over the weekend. Thanks

This is why tucking your right elbow in tight to you body is so important. The setup will never fix the arm position. Strike comes from the hands, power comes from the legs. Tuck your elbow and your hands HAVE to turn over and release. DO NOT beging dancing around the ball trying to find a better strike with your feet. Glad it worked for you, but would highly caution 10 plus handicappers.

brother i teach golf all day for a living you have an opinion which is fine but i’ve literally received hundreds of messages saying this has fixed people’s slices. maybe start posting tips on your own page instead of giving unsolicited bad advice on someone else’s.
