Driver Only Operation: DOO Train Dispatch Explained (2008)

In Spain, almost every train is DOO. Drivers don't even check after closing doors that everything is safe before departing. They have mirrors on train (not on the station,except curved platforms with insufficient view (exceptions exist), where they have mirrors or CCTV) in most cases. They don't look out the window. Most times, trains at junction stations are even self-dispatched by Drivers. No DS on commuter trains.

@@TheArkamedBat I've ridden on DOO services and never been trapped by a door. Probably because cameras give the driver a better view than the guard would have
