Music in the umodified PC version was played from the CD, this feature was broken on Windows Vista and never and crashed the game after a few minutes of playing I am also unable to make it work on PC with natively installed Windows 2000, perhaps because I use a USB CD drive, so thanks for letting me know about the repack 🙃

i have an idea for another playthrough in driver 1 pc, try the traffic cars mod on that one.

I said this version is better than the ps1 but the difficult is more easier, and the music is not what we remember but forgot that, the graphics are good and this have so much differences with the ps1 version.

By the way would it be possible to get a european copy of Driver 1 on PC and transfer the sound contents and cutscenes over to your current copy? The European copy has uncensored voice lines and cutscenes, same goes for the PAL version for PS1.

that's definitely possible. the fmvs and audio files are in a editable format.

about the rain sound, i replaced with test drive 6 pc rain sound, its better for my ears, but this one for driver 1 pc is much terrible.

Can we using gamepad controller?

I was using an Xbox Series X controller so yes. You can't bind L2+R2/triggers, right stick and d-pad however. You also can't rebind controller at all on the original Driver 1 PC release.
