I've never been on a Velocity train but they sound very quiet and comfortable, this is the next best thing, Thanks Driver667.......

I've just discovered Terry Pratchett's Discworld audio books on KZbin. The one I'm listening to now is over 7 hours long. I think I'm gonna see a lot of Cab View videos today. 😎

No locos pulling passenger trains,a sad end of an era,velocities are fine, but you can't beat the look and sound of the locomotive ,l hope the locos find a good home

I do rather like driving a locomotive hauled passenger train but I don't mind the vlocity for comfort. 👍😊

Ya know what Vline, make a new train that is not a Vlocity named Vista.

It would've been the same without an N Class Locomotive on the Standard Gauge to Albury
@driver667 Жыл бұрын
N class no more.... 🫣

I believe that you are correct. I met Tim a few times whilst I was driving the DERM. He was a very nice bloke and did love his trains 👍😊

how do u cope at Wallan (on a bright sunny day) with those Distant and home signals being searchlights.. does it make it hard to read the aspect??
@driver667 Жыл бұрын
You get used to seeing them. Sunny days don't really worry me. We know what and when to look for them. 👍😊

A quick one I hope, if you have time? I gather drivers need different training to operate this, given it is part of the DIRN? Ie different radio procedure. An existing driver that operates to Seymour on the Broad Gauge can't just hop in and operate this service? I understand that route knowledge is important, such as signal placement, and beyond Seymour is a whole different line.
@driver667 Жыл бұрын
Each line we operate on requires us to be trained in that line first. The safe working system and signalling is different for each line. The broad gauge has different rules to the standard gauge. So you are correct, just because you know the broad gauge does not just mean you can drive on the standard gauge. 👍😊

@@driver667 Thank you. I figured that would be the case. Operationally, if your base is at Southern Cross, does VLine prefer to keep you on specific route, or could you do a round to Traralgon on your first half, then up to Seymour and back?
@driver667 Жыл бұрын
@@TheNthbeach I am based at Southern Cross and am qualified in most of the network plus a few freight lines. This means that I might go to Traralgon or further today and a completely different direction tomorrow. Drivers based out in the regions drive only on their own corridors. 👍
