The numerous sky rail stations on the dandy line are so great, i absolutely love the Carnegie upgrade as i lived in that burb for 21 years (from birth) me and my Bro (and school chums) used to "rude the rails" throughout Melbourne You rock metro

Yes to be sure, I'm in perth and in the works are 1) Bayswater to Ellenbrook via tonkin hwy... 2) duel track to Thornley then on to Cockburn central... 3) extension from Burns Beach to Lancelin

Thanks for bring so many memories.I moved to Springvale in 1950 as a 10yo. you will know my age, Westall was a station but not stopped at, Yarraman was not thought of. and all that line was on ground level, possible was North Road going Husdale station again thank for your videos.

My idea for this line - without the 3rd track - intermittent express service. ie: the Cranbourne train stops at Noble Park and the following Pakenham train stops at Sandown. All the trains would still need to stop at Clayton for Monash Uni and the Hospital. Getting the metro trains to bypass every 2nd station could help free up space for the vline services

Or a new route for the vline service, maybe down the middle of the south eastern freeway from Dandenong to Richmond. Bypass the suburban trains altogether. The eastern corridor is a headache for any government trying to come up with a solution. 🫣

With so many services using the same 2 x tracks, the government even came up with an idea to place vline passengers onto the new 8 carriage metro trains at Pakenham. That was political suicide in Gippsland seats

0:40 - Disappointing to see the points that join the Frankston and Dandenong lines are no more since January this year. It gets rid of flexibility to divert away from disruptions occurring on either the Frankston or Dandenong lines. They were removed for CBTC signalling, which won’t really help to anything but Metro. And, V/Line and freight trains are gunna have to wait behind stopping all stations suburban services when a disruption occurs because of the points’ removal. Just another excuse to run buses I guess.
