I’m really enjoying your videos, this one especially, my old stamping ground. Hamilton in its heyday was a very busy country location. .I was transferred as Electrical Fitter in late 1966, to maintain all the safe working equipment, signals,points,staff machines, level crossing signals, teleprinters,telephones and telephone lines. In those days the Signal & Telegraph Division covered a wide area from Horsham,Coleraine, Casterton, Mt Gambier,Portland, Warrnambool and Ararat.I arrived as the level crossing on the UP side of the station was being replaced by an overpass. The wheat season had just started, specials from Ararat to Hamilton by R class, double headed J class to Portland and return, R class to Ararat with a bank engine, Hamilton to Strathkeller. If what we see today is called progress, I’m afraid it’s a sorry state of affairs. Once again terrific video, thanks.

We're supposed to be having summer but it's a bit cool and wet at the moment. It won't be long and those hot sunny days will be here. Watch out for those tornadoes there. 👍😊

Is this line still in service for freight etc? Or is it strictly a tourist line now? Certainly runs through some nice country.

This line is open for freight services. It is nice scenery through there. 👍😀
