@@driver667 thanks driver667. I think that you and for that matter, every Melbournian is proud that Melbourne has the largest tram network on Planet Earth. [saved by Major-General Risson when it was in vogue to scrap every other tram network. I bet they're sorry now although some cities are trying to rebuild trams networks.]

Well my old line has certainly changed ,elevated at coburg,no gate keepers,the bridge before Flemington bridge stn used to have a restricted speed of 10k on it and the stn was a buggar to stop at specially in icy weather,similiar to laburnum on the downgreat video mate,cheers,👏👏👋👋👍

I enjoyed driving suburban trains but I am happy driving around the state for vline now. 😊 The 130 sign is the speed from that point reducing from 160kph. 👍😊

Are you running on yellows up to Jewell due to the level crossing activations? I’ve noticed a similar operation of signalling on the Altona loop but never twigged as to what I could be.

A stopping all stations train is usually on yellows and red at the end of the platform. The level crossing is not operating as long as if the train was express. This is a usual practice. 👍😊

I wanted to ask you something because it's something I think you could help me with. Yesterday (Monday 24 July) I was travelling on the 9am train from Berwick (Pakenham line) to the city to go and do something in there. The Up morning train from Bairnsdale (the N class loco-hauled set) runs between that one and the next Up Pakenham train. However, when I got off at Richmond to observe it going through (as I had some time before I had to be where I was going and wanted to see/hear it stopping and departing for a change), I was disappointed to discover it wasn't an N class but a regular Vlocity :( The question I have for you is if you know if the last timetabled N class to/from Bairnsdale has finally been replaced, or if this would have been a one-off occurrence? Please let me know so I can work out if I'll still have a chance to try again another time.

The loco will be on the Bairnsdale for quite a while yet. It has been a VLocity lately due to the Bairnsdale line being closed for bridge work. I am led to believe trains are now running again but another shut down is coming up. 👍😊

I really hope they don't replace those hybrid bells at Macaulay Rd. They sound so epic and are just timeless and are also associated with Melbourne trains. And after the other level crossings with hybrids are removed in the next few years, they'll be the only ones left on the suburban passenger network :(
