before the driver continued up along the platform, did he hand over the staff to the station master to show the line is clear?
@driver667 Жыл бұрын
He handed it up to the signalman at Castlemaine 👍😊

Good film work. Here is your next mission agent 667: Make a 3ft 6 inch gauge trolley ,mount a camera and travel the l ength of thd Tasmanian North East railway from Coldwater Creek to Scottsdale. Take a chain saw you may need it. The last but nearly forgotten adventurous abandon line in Tasmania. Check out the history of Denison Gorge and ARHS publication of Jim Stokes.

There is some beautiful scenery along the lines, open and closed down in tassie. You never know what might appear here in the future with a bit of luck. 👍😀

Here is a more social and economic plan. Convert Maryborough to Ballarat standard gauge therefore you have a triangle which links Geelong, Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne ,Sydney. Now Maryborough is one very poor town, hardly a service town. So construct a modern railway workshop where green carded wagons can be taken, standard gauge locomotives serviced, ABCDE exams and overhaul. Jobs, training, engineering, education, income (no more dole) , personal achievement, sense of worth. Jobs and careers. So cut out wagons or locos out at Ararat off the interstate trains and send them to Maryborough. Repaired, wheel turning etc, then back into the system via Ballarat and Geelong and Vicki verka. No competition from BRW Bendigo as they are all broad gauge and gauge locked. Gee if the tax payer paid $420 million for Mildura conversion (using existing timber sleeper), about $1000 per metre then a railway workshop may actually return a profit.
