This line had 1500v overhead wires 😊

Actually it never was electrified but it had supply cables running along side the line from Newport to the substation at Albion. Electric trains never ran along here. 👍😀

Was the line between Newport and Sunshine ever electrified, the reason I ask is there are a lot of stanchions on both sides of the track in a lot of places????

No, it was never electrified. The stanchions carried feeders from Newport to supply the substation at Albion 👍😀

Looks like there is a lot of track maintenance happening judging by all of the sleepers, could it be reinstatement of the BG line that is booked out? As always, a very different perspective of little known about lines. Thank you and I love your camera trick 😜in concealing the Leslie's....

Thank you for the escape whilst I’m down with COVID. I did see a sign that made me curious. It states CSR coasting begin and end. I’m assuming it’s something to do with the LX and track circuit. Do you have any ideas?

I am told that is what it is. They affect the track circuit there for some reason. Glad you enjoyed the ride and I hope you get better soon 👍😀
