The only time that would happen is if you were to move too slowly, like by not stepping on the accelerator and letting the car creep all the time. In that case, yeah, you'd have to follow the examiner's instructions.

I was horrified! The guy is driving with one hand on the wheel on the corners. He could pass a forklift drivers licence in the U.K. but not a driver’s licence. This test seems open to abuse too! If the instructor likes, you pass. In the U.K. you learn on the road and for starters rule one is ‘be in command of the vehicle’. Meaning, both hands on the steering wheel. No wonder there are so many traffic deaths in Japan. Because I drive well my wife and son are still alive after hitting black ice on our way home to Tokyo from Tochigi. That course does not make a good driver!!!
@mannylaza49384 жыл бұрын
Plus he's driving too fast when turning left or right. The instructor says 'slow down' a thousand times! I wonder how many times did he take this test before he passed.
@MD-xl1sq2 жыл бұрын
In the United States you get a learners permit before you take your driving test which enables you to drive on public roads as long and you’re with a licensed driver that’s 18 or over. That way you can practice driving before you take the test. In Japan you have to pay a lot of money to go to a driving school before you get any actual driving experience.
@mastercko2 жыл бұрын
I think "so many traffic deaths" is a bit hyperbolic. According to Wikipedia, Japan has 4.1 traffic-related deaths per 100,000 people. The UK's rate is definitely lower, with 2.9, but in the grand scheme of things, Japan's is not really bad (the US has 12.4 and there are countries on the list with 30+, which is crazy.)
@rohp12834 жыл бұрын
Great video. Tks. 1. Does the steering have to be held at the 10 to two position? 2. In the crank and S curve, does it matter if the car goes to much to the left or right but still does not hit the curb? Tks
@halsmypal4 жыл бұрын
1) They're not very strict on the position of your hands, as long as both hands are on the wheel. On straight roads, my hands are at 9 and 3, sometimes 8 and 4, never 7 and 5 (too low). As long as both hands are on the wheel, it'll be fine. Related to hand position and turning, the push-pull method, it's difficult to execute smoothly. As long as you demonstrate good control of the vehicle, you'll be fine. Just don't do anything crazy like stunt driving with one hand on the wheel and another on the handbrake. 2) The curves are very tight. There isn't much space for you to go too far to either side, so they don't pay attention to the distance between the car and the curb too much. On turning, what's important is to be on the correct side when you're making turns. For example, when turning left, you shouldn't stray too far from the left curb. Maintain the distance to around 60cm. One of the reasons, I was taught, was to discourage cyclists from entering that space and t-boning your vehicle as you make a turn. One more tip is always make a full stop at stop signs. Miss it once and the test is over. Please remember to do this in real life, outside the test track too. :)
