Brilliant. I worked in and out of Forrestfield from September 1973 until April 2001. Forrestfield Yard has changed so much that I barely recognised it. Once you were clear of Forrestfield I got my bearings back.

Midland is my home ground. It is amazing the changes taking place in such a short time. Good to see it from a different perspective. Noted this continues to Northam. Will be great to see that. On another note, I commented previously when you managed to get a light aircraft landing on Rottnest. This time the loco was buzzed by one of the big boys. It's all in the timing.

I remember travelling on this very line through to Midland Livestock Sale Yards and the Midland workshops from Forrestfield in the 70's as part of the Standard Gauge Shunting crew #7. Mostly in the middle of the night from a guard's van in the middle of winter. It got me thinking about train routes for passengers. I still have the proposal I presented to State Govt, to extend Passenger lines from the Thornlie line through to the new High Wycombe station, alongside the current lines into Midland at Woodbridge. This I presented to Minister for Transport, Rita Saffioti, in 2016, as part of an overall Southern circle route, as seen in one of your journey's from Leighton to Cockburn. It would save a lot of travel time for those coming from the South to travel to either the Western, or Eastern parts of Perth and reduce congestion into Perth. Good trip, many memories. Keep them coming, great job.

Thanks! 6:19 former fuel point? 14:24 Southern end of Woodbridge triangle. The other leg leads to the East Perth terminal and was originally double-tracked. 17:11 Harper Street is one of only two public four-track level crossings in WA that i can think of. The other one will be at Cale Street, also in Midland. 18:14 This new track and the temporary passenger platform is for the country services from the East Perth Terminal, mentioned earlier. The Indian-Pacific runs through here but doesn't stop. 18:33 Former Helena Street four-track level crossing, recently closed because it would interfere with the new Midland station under construction. 20:16 Building and fitting-out of Perth's new EMUs is being done here.
