Can you explain why vibrations might happen with a driveshaft that has a single CV on one end and a single U-joint on the other?

So where exactly does the vibration occur? At the ujoint or shaft overall? This perhaps shakes the rear of the trans?

Torque and inertia(power-delivery feel, time spinning rpm-range-effect is "maintained" without power) and drag(opposite of torque, spin-up after slowing down, reaction) are also causes. Engine = torque(power), inertia(reaction), drag(engine branking) = flywheel-effect Gear-box = ... flywheel-effect Drive-shaft = fly... Wheel axle, rims, brake disc, tires, = fly... Every part is distributed and range-within-range of smoothen feel without adversely affecting performance Example = if heavy-engine produces high-torque to gear-box, something in-between to smoothen things out maybe necessary. If engine is effect-5, gearbox is effect4, clutch plates can be protect gearbox4 or consider next range of after gearbox drive-shaft3 give 5,3,4,3 Sometimes, it is the volume and thickness that matters more than the weight when it comes to vibrations and not strength. Asynchronous ratios cancel-out even more vibrations. Example 3.1 to 4.0 instead of 3.0... divide have remainder. If diesel 2x4litres(5cylinders) to 3xcar4speeder(forwards) churning-foaming ATF auto-gearbox... Shafts to balance engine is crank1 to shaft to crank2 Mount boxes is big gear shaft to A,B,C gears. Box1 uses hingeA, pullB, touchC, Box2 uses hingeB, pullC, touch A, box3 need asynchronous to send vibrations to somewhere else for cancellation-dispersion. Pull can leaf spring shaky (x,y,z axis cancel one diagonal only)

Round pipe-thingy mounting holy metal-brace suggestions = bigger than needed, longer than needed x2 = bottom is 2 tightening hex-screw nut for support = tighten one as hinge then tighten the other as suspension grip, 2 "teeth support" = some lousy brace butter-fly winged-nut garden hose-clip cannot remove belt-brace fully and insert another lole a cable-tie hack. Avoid those.

Pokey threaded rod from left to top and protrude to outer of axle-core, and another the same but right to bottom, through round holy metal brace and tighten - is another option. Do not indent-dented hot-heat gun PVC pipe into a hex-nut. Too vulgar... for witches... they may attack.

Is this the issue causing my 6 speed manual 2012 mustang to vibrate while decelerating between 2k-3k rpm? It is repeatable every single time. I either have to shift before 2k or we’ll above 3k for it to not happen
