Are you racing on the jack stands like me or do you have a finished build? Post something about your project, I would love to know what my viewers have going on in their garage! 😃

Great work on the channel! I have a 1990 740 daily beater and a 1972 142 project :) The project is pretty much a full restoration. Haven't decided on engine yet but most likely a b230fk for the ease of it, its going to be a road legal car so the plan is to follow volvo's own guidelines on 140 series. The guidelines says ventilated 240 discs at the front with 270163 (girling) pads. And 270164 rear pads (girling). On this setup you are allowed to run 180hp/215nm. To start off I plan to get hold of lh2.4 harness and run that, atleast untill the car and all the changes are approved by SVV.

Thanks! Sounds like a nice project 👍 I have newer owned any type of the 140 series. But some of my friends has owned serveral differnt types of them and i really like the bodywork on that model. I did own the 242 from 1975, i think they share alot with the previous 142 like the B20 and M40 setup and some interior parts, really miss that car. Lycky we have those guidelines! Not a lot of manufactures have recommendations for swapping engines back and forth 😃 The B230fk swap is a realtivly easy one, but if iam not misstaken the intake will hit the brake booster, but iam not sure. Wish you the best of luck with your build! 👍

@@BackmansGarage Yeah I absolutely love the looks of the 140 series. Yes you are correct the intake will interfere with the brake booster, I am probably going to move the brake booster to the battery tray since the battery is relocated to the trunk of the car. Here you can see the solution for the brake booster scontent-cph2-1.xx.fbcdn.net/v/t35.18174-12/15682110_10154027182651389_807617074_o.jpg?_nc_cat=105&ccb=2&_nc_sid=ae9488&_nc_ohc=JkT_e3swM4kAX_UKbOq&_nc_ht=scontent-cph2-1.xx&oh=acc0e9dacd9772c57a8c84c1e1af8612&oe=5FB30AF3

Omg, haha never seen anything like that before. Nice way of getting around that problem 😃 👍 Any idea of where that booster comes from? Iam guessing that is stock on some car right?
@m.freddy17614 жыл бұрын
@@BackmansGarage Yep hehe! Its a booster from Volvo p1800/Amazon

Nice! The first motorcycle I drove was actually an 80's cbr 👍 They feel like The motorcycle of the 80's, and if I ever start riding motorcycles, thats probably where I would start 😀👍

@BackmansGarage4 жыл бұрын

@BackmansGarage2 жыл бұрын
@GamezGames192 жыл бұрын

Looks a bit different from the 240 one. I had to cut mine off it was soooooo seized on
@BackmansGarage4 жыл бұрын
Yes the 240 one is a bit easier to get to, but like you say, they are also harder to get the bearong off of. I usually pull the rubber off from the bearing and cut off the outer bearing race in two pieces and cut and split the inner ring with a chisel so you can pull it off. I really need to get a 240 for the channel 😃

Look for arrows, they should point to echother. Some have paint marks that should align.
