Anthony, we have sold over 100 shafts like this and even more if the aluminum ones are included. we have not had anyone have this issue. how much room is needed. (Frank Driveshaftshop.com)

revisiting this video as I am considering to buy an aluminum shaft from DSS. Would you guys custom make one to fit with the short shifter [I have the KartBoy short shifter as well]? I prefer not to have to grind anything down

why is your driveshaft turning when you are in neutral???

+Abstoss I don't know. I remember it doing this, and the wheels would turn while the car was in the air. But you could easily grab them with your hands and make them stop and the car wouldn't stall out. So it was like it was just barely rubbing first gear. I'm not even sure if it still does this anymore, because I never have the car running when it's lifted. I actually had forgotten about this lol.

hehe ya well kind of strange. but I remember another video where an 86 was jacked up and once the engine was started the rear wheels where also spinning. I need to test that with mine too.

+Abstoss Something about it just seemed normal, even though I'd never seen that before. Obviously I was so unconcerned about it, I actually forgot about it. It's really easy to stop the wheels from spinning. Like the friction of a cat rubbing up against one tire is probably the threshold where it may or may not be enough to stop both wheels and the driveshaft.

hope you get it balanced after you grind it. When it's a drive shaft it must be in balance. if you grind it it can fast be out of balance

+christoffer1973 Oh man, this was over a year and a half ago. I didn't grind the driveshaft though, I grinded the shifter linkage.

+Anthony Lizana it's old video. But for another viuver it's good to know it's better to modify the shifter then the shaft. Like your videos.
