Most younger Millennials and Zoomers wouldn't understand '80s and '90s car HP ratings. They forget that it was a representation of its time, technology, and standards of the day. They forget that those cars were also a lot lighter than much more modern cars -- they didn't need 700hp just to make it move, like today's cars. Let's not forget, either, that 225hp was still respectable even into the mid-2000s. The 2002-07 WRX was 227hp, an SRT4 Neon was 215-230hp (depending on year), and the supercharged Cobalt SS and ION Redline was 205hp. A VERY underrated 205hp, but 205hp nonetheless. Horsepower isn't EVERYTHING when in comes to a performance car, or a vehicle's driving dynamics. It's a decent part of the equation, but it isn't everything.

I also didn't realize that Clarkson only had the car for a year -- it seemed like longer than that, and I thought he mentioned that he had it until around 1997 in an old OLD Top Gear video.
