Even if EVs take over the “daily driver,” I’m sure this style of car will still be owned and driven by enthusiasts. So much fun and “fizz”,as the trio puts it, is lost on EVs. So as long as gasoline is available, these cars will survive on the roads. Drive that M5 with pride!

The Top Gear segment that was referenced actually brought me to tears. It was so moving. Just hearing the music put me right back there. Well done on referencing and emulating that segment. Also for fixing BMW's error and making that M5 a true driver's car. I agree too that we are seeing an era come to an end, but weirdly that no longer saddens me. These beasts of our obsession will only be all the more special as their logic and essence antiquate.

Without a shadow of a doubt you’ve done the right thing. The SMG gearbox was terrible and converting to manual will make you feel more connected to that V10. I have a Jaguar XJS V12 that I want to do the same to as the car will have so much more to give as a result. Instead of golf club cruiser, a B road stormer. (If the wife will let me! Lol)

That ending speech gave me the goosebumps. I’m such a huge car enthusiast since I was a little kid and now at the age of 24, having not experienced some rare, special, outrageous and beautiful cars and knowing the fact that this era is slowly but surely dying, with governments pushing EV’s, as a consequence manufacturers having to downsize and bring out their EV’s is just scaring me.

The references to TG, the location, editing quality and overall direction of this feature was very well done and did take me back to that V12 vantage episode. We all have things we like/dislike about each others cars but petrol heads we all are, and we can all appreciate the passion here and you know we're simple folk, we see a V10 we press like 👍🏻

The automatic in old bmws is like the gear changing is being done by a blindfolded passenger guessing when to change gear then shifting as violently as possible

I got goosebumps and emotional when "An Ending" played alongside that singing V10 with the parallels between Mike and his M5 with Clarkson driving the V12 Vantage. Let's hope wide adoption of carbon neutral e fuels make still driving an ice powered car socially acceptable!
