Most of the driveways I regrade already have enough stone to work with. Even if they don't, I quote a cost for the initial grading which should be done first. It eliminates ruts, potholes and uneven terrain before adding a layer of new stone if they want it. Any contractor can simply throw a new layer of stone on top to cover up existing problems :) Nothing does a proper driveway grading like a Ventrac with the Power Rake!

Yeah, what most ppl don’t realize is that they don’t need a new load of gravel. They just need to have the existing driveway regraded. Unbelievable how quick you can turn a rough driveway into a smooth and appealing driveway again.

Could you do a video of adjusting the drum and putting some crown in a driveway?

Sure thing. Not sure how familiar you are with the Power Rake, but you can’t raise one end of the drum up higher than the other end to crown a road. You can turn the drum and angle it to move material to one side though (middle) to crown it that way. With each pass you just raise the entire drum up a little more while angling it toward the middle. Hope that makes sense. But I’ll try to get a video for you!

The Lawn Care Life in Mowssouri in there product announcement video for the new kg 540 it said that you would be able to tilt the newer style (for crowning a driveway). When I went and talked to the dealer they couldn’t really give me much info on it either. But I did see on the kg540 there is the four bolts that I assume you could loosen and tilt the drum up and down. I don’t have mine yet was just curious if you played around with that yet or not. Thank you

Yes, on the new KG540 you are able to tilt the drum. You raise the attachment up, loosen the bolts on top, put a block under the drum on one side that you want higher, lower the attachment down, then tighten the bolts back up. I hope that made sense. I’ll get a video made showing how to do it. Anything else you would like to see in the video?

Ventrac over Steiner just bought a 450 what’s the difference?

I’m really not sure. They are very similar, but Ventrac offers a LOT more attachments. One of my buddies has two Steiner 450’s and loves them, but they have discontinued all of the good attachments.

Yeah, for sure. There are some clearance issues on some attachments and belt issues, but a lot of guys make it work. What attachments do you have right now for the 450?
