Hi Eric, watch Andrew Camarata here on youtube. He has some really great videos on removing stumps and clearing driveways. What he does is pull the stump out of the ground, grab/lift/shake it, use the bucket to clear off a lot of the dirt off the stump, then lift the stump high in the air and drop it right back into the hole it was pulled out of. All of this is done over the hole it was pulled out of, and it fills in the hole while getting most of the dirt off. From there, he either cuts the stumps and hauls them away, cuts and burns them, or tosses them in an unused part of the woods where it'll decompose and provide habitats. 80 stumps, though... definitely get the dirt off of them and consider taking them to a mulch manufacturer or weathering them for firewood next year. Great job out there! We're coming up in January to dig our own. 1800 feet of driveway... gonna be fun. :) Find his driveway/stumps videos here: kzbin.infosearch?query=removing%20stumps%20driveway

if you've already piled them up maybe turn them into compost or consider Hügelkultur. The biomass from the wood debris is piled in long rows and covered in compost and then topped with topsoil. you leave it for 5-6 months and then you have really great fertile raised beds which last years. The wood continues to enrich the soil as it decays over time. Since winter is coming you could prep the mounds now and let them settle over winter and have great fertile rows come planting season. Thanks for sharing I love watching all your videos seeing all the fantastic views of Alaska

I was just praying that no one fell into that cold water. Excavators are amazing. I own a big dozer, but I actually think an excavator (we call them trackhoes down south) would work better for me in timber. Stumps are hard to extract with a blade. Burn what you can and dig a hole. Bury the rest of the stumps. You'll need the mini-ex back when you are prepping for the cabin. By then the stumps will be ready to burn. Good show guys!

Since your water table is very high, gather all the dirt/soil, pile it like an elevated mound of Hill. Then compact it. (Before build your house, cabin etc). So you don't have to worry with the rising water table when snow melt or heavy wet weather. That will be the best option.
