I was warned years ago the WC could shift into gear while idling since they vibrated. Old mechanics used to chain them down as a safety precaution while working on them.

So, nearly 10 years down the track what is the tractor like now?

Getting my styled WC fixed up and ready to see the light of day again after several years, it was given to me by my father only a couple of years ago. It was put away several years before that.

My father talks about the WC growing up with his brothers. Heard .any stories over the years about them . I learned to drive on a CA. The only brand new Allis my dad and late uncle had is a 1964 D-17 which I still have. We had an entirely Allis fleet of tractors until the mid 1980's when I bought an International 806. We still have a D-15, D-17 , D-19 and a 170. I will admit I miss the 190 XT which a kid I thought was gigantic. Now have a Case 2294 and a JD 4430 as the big power.

A 7030 will walk a 4430 right out the gate

Yours looks better than mine. Mines a 37 but needs the dents out of it and maybe a new paint job. I got the original spoke wheels with the original tires done 1937 and they work great in dirt. The only problem is with them is the back ones are hard as a rock and are real jumpy in parades and in either 1-3rd gear. It don't bounce in 4th.
