Driving a Fiat Uno Turbo

I had one of these back in the earky 1990's, and let me tell you I've had 'better' cars (VW, Saab, Audi, Land Rover) since, but not one put a smile on my face like the Uno Turbo ie. I lowerd mine by 25mm to improve the alarming body roll around roundabouts with the side effect of huge grip and stability when pushing on, but kept everyhting else stock as it really didn;t need messing with. All my mates were in Peugeot 205s and Renault 5 GT Turbos, having driven them all was always glad I'd chosen the Uno Turbo. Amazing little car.

If I look at all the smaller hot hatches, the Uno would not be my favourite too. For me it is the AX GT - but I havent driven either the 5GT or the 205. I need to get my hands on one of those :)

Additional information: 3 and 5 doors hatchback and station wagon; 2 and 4 door saloon; pick up and van (Fiorino). A whole family. The Brazilian ones were developed using most of the 147 (127) mechanicals, so, the front hood and fenders were different from the Italian ones. This decoration for the turbo was similar to the 1.5 and 1.6 "R" 🇧🇷 versions. The 1994-96 BR "Turbo ie" had a different design, with body coloured bumpers and side skirts.

The Fiat Duna was sold in Italy but produced in Brazil... For many reason it was very much frowned upon... I didn't understand why people took so badly to the Fiat Duna... As an Italian was very exicted to see this video, thanks for doing it...

So the Innocenti estate, was that from Brazil production too?

Not sure but I'd say yes... Growing up in Italy I did see very few on the road but did see them... I don't think people imported them themselves given the mani streem view that they are "goofy" cars @@petrolpunx

Loved my Uno MK 1 45 ES Super 5 Speed A Reg 1983 my first ever car back in 1992 lasted till 1997 rust got to it in the end but great early driving menories
