My father-in-law had one, from memory it was number 086, it was his company car. I remember the clutch was really heavy. Awesome car.

The forerunner to this car was the 1986 Rover Vitesse Twin Plenium & when Tom Walkinshaw started working for Holden, he utilised much of the Rover tech in this car including twin intake throttle bodies, front spoiler & rear air wing. Excellent review.
@ozwasp7 сағат бұрын
The fuel injected 5L V8 from 1989 was basically the same motor without the twin throttle bodies. In the late 90s you could pick these up for around $25k and a VK SS group A for around $20k

The standard 122kw 4.9 liter v8 3 speed auto did 16 sec 1/4 miles , this 180 kw walking walkinsaw did around 14.8 I believe, it's been a long time

Both Wheels and Modern Motor had them in high 14s for the quarter. Fastest factory locally made car since the Phase 3. Not bad considering the restrictive exhaust, low compression, and tall diff. But didn't matter anyway, as they existed just to homologate the body kit and engine parts for racing. Eventually winning Bathurst in 1990.
@mrporsche42367 күн бұрын
It did a high 14 sec quarter not 16
